Installed LEDs
Installed LEDs
Installed some LEDs from SuperBrightLeds.com into my 04 6MT Coupe. Though it turned out pretty well. I am having the issue where the Map lights are dimly lit when they are "off" when the switch is set to auto (turns on when doors open), but it's not bright enough to be a distraction.
I just took them with my iPhone. They aren't great but you get the idea (they capture the color quite well, it's just the photo isn't crisp).
The one of the headlight turned out quite well though (I was actually rather impressed).

Map light dimly lit.

The clearance and reverse light LED's are rated 5500K (only option) and the interior map and door are 4500K.
Compared to the stock HIDs the clearance do look a little blue but not too bad. I have 5000K HID Fog/Highs on the way and if they are close enough I might swap my low beams for 5000K as well.
I'll take more pictures when I get my fogs installed (with a better camera, hopefully).

The map lights being dimly lit are normal. Something about how LEDs operate at a much lower wattage so there will always be a little bit of light. I don't remember exactly but if you do a search something will come up.
OTOH, the kit looks great, I got an interior kit myself as well as PIAA Xtreme white for the reverse bulbs. Can't wait to throw them on the car this weekend.

The whole kit was about $120 shipped to my door. I used 4 LED Festoon Bulbs for the interior and SMT Wedge bulbs everywhere else (total of 13 bulbs replaced).
I used 13 SMT LED for the reverse light, 9 SMT LED for the clearance strips in front (13's don't fit - I tried), and 5 SMT LED for the 4 parking lights (aka side markers), license plate lights, and trunk bulb. All 168/194 plug type.
Note: The reverse bulbs on the car are 921, but this is actually the same plug as a 168/194 bulb, so I just got the longer 13 LED version since it puts out more light (I think it's still a bit more dim than the stock bulbs but looks way better).
Here are pictures of the bulbs I used, so it'll be easier to reference.
13 LED: (Reverse Lights)

9 LED: (Clearance Strip):

5 LED: 4 Parking Lights, License Plate Lights, Trunk Light:

Interior Festoons:

Price is something like $6 each for the 5 LED bulbs, $13 each for the 9 LED bulbs, and $15 each for the 13 LED bulbs. Festoon bulbs are cheap at $3 each. (So VietBoyz, to answer your question,it was $30 bucks for the two reverse bulbs.)
In retrospect I probably would have wanted a PC Board SMT LED setup for my map lights.

It looks awesome man. I originally had the 03-05 headlights on my car, and had attempted to put a LED in the clearance strip. Unforunately mine had yellowed so bad it was disgusting. So i bought 06+ projectors and relocated the bulb to the city lights. It looks really good. I would love to mod in a clearance strip though. Eventually I will. What lights did you use for the map lights? I like how it is dimly lit. Did you change out the under door lighting as well? Here's some pics:

The Map Lights are dimly let just by chance. It happens when they are set to "auto" mode (turns on when doors open and what not), but the doors are shut so the lights should be "off" but stay dimly lit for some reason. It's really not bright at all - just enough for me to notice the are on.
I changed out the under door lighting with the same bulbs I put in the map lights. They are all the bulbs in the last picture in my above post.
And wow that clearance strip really yellowed a lot.
Mine have yellowed a little bit towards the bottom but nothing like that. I was considering baking the lights to give me access to the clearance strip so I could clean it up, but they aren't yellow enough to justify the effort right now.

I baked my lights, used half a bottle of Mother's Plastx, and it did nothing. The yellowing occurs on the inside of the strip. Once you bake the headlights and get everything apart the actual clearance strip is a long triangular jagged piece of plastic. There really isn't much you can do. If it was flat, then that would be a different story. I'd say don't waste your time. Just buy a set in good condition, or upgrade to 06+ projectors.
