I have an 03 g35 6 speed and I find this the hardest car to drive especially when I'm taking side streets. Compared to my old integra the shifter is really rough. Meaning its rough whenever I switch gears from 1-2-4-5-6-R. I have the oem clutch and I was wondering if you guys also have this issue when your shifting gears?

Nope. no problem. When it was freezing temperature, it was little hard from 1-2 but thats bout it. Shifts perfect in summer. Try switching the oil to amsoil something. Forgot the exact, read it somewhere on forum but it helps the notchy gear shifting your talking bout. Give it a try.

Only time it's rough for me is when I pop it into neutral approaching a stop, then traffic picks up again before a full stop and I have to pop it back into 2nd or 3rd. There seems to be a lot of resistance trying to push it into gear.

going into 1st sucks when it is really cold, or if you are moving. i almost have to literally be stopped to get it to slide in without any pressure. but otherwise mine shifts great. it is hard to drive in the sense that it is not a honda… it does take some getting use to to perfect.

why would you ever want to drop into 1st while rolling? you should never do that. 2nd is more then sufficient, even when almost stopped.Originally Posted by nicbaines

I have noticed it shifting a little smoother in the warm weather.. The only complaint I have is a tiny bit of resistance going into second when downshifting.

I never drove a manual before, question here: Do you push the shifter downward and put it into reverse if you want to put in reverse?...;;; I know some cars are different for reversing...

ya im gettin the same problem when trying to shift into 1st. i have to try a few times or hold down the clutch for a couple seconds before doing it. this happens only a once in a while

If you let your clutch out in neutral and let your engine drop back to idle, your tranny input speed has slowed significantly, and when you put it into gear there's a large speed discrepancy so your synchros are working harder to match the speed, making it harder to put in gear.Originally Posted by tragedycat

Damn I drove this guys car who bought my wheels and shifting his car was like butter compared to mine. Mine you have to actually punch it to the next gear lol. Do you guys know if you could adjust it? I'm getting tired of driving my car because its so hard to change gears.Originally Posted by Ryuusei
Mine shifts like hot knife through butter. Smooth even during cold start.
