I plan to use a blend of dino, synth, extra-virgin olive, snake and a dash of KY for sliptivity. Srsly, why would you bother mixing grades unless you're down over a quart and/or that's all you have.

well, from looking at the chart, Penzoil Platinum has the least wear on an aluminum block engine, am I wrong?

does that really make a difference? Some of us are in socal so does 10w30 during summer better than just our usual 5w30?

^ Block is made out of aluminum but internal parts are made up of different metals.

I just changed my oil today. I got Mobile 1 extended performance 5w30 and the larger M1-110 oil filter. It might just be me but my car seem to run soo much better. The time before I had penzoil platinum 5w30.

How do you only pay $30 for your oil change?

I use Castrol German 0w30 brand, and a wix filter plus $20 bucks for labor and it runs me from $60-$65

After extensive research on here and other sites, I decided to go with Castrol Syntec 0W-30, German stock. I then asked my mechanic how long could I go between oil changes, since I'm spending more for expensive synthetic and guys on this sites recommend 5k, 6K, or even longer intervals. He took the time to explain how the engine heat rises in the engine and the longer you leave the oil in the the more it sticks to the engine and the more gunk and residue that says inside there. I asked abiut 3,500 miles and he agreed. It's your car but, my oil changes including and Mobil 1 oil filter run about thirty bucks a piece. I paid over $35k for my car. Don't think I will try to save on oil.

I used to get it for about $40. I buy when pepboys has 5 qts of mobile 1 and M1 filter for 29.99. Then I used to go to a place that only charged $10 labor if i brought my own oil and filter. But they closed down. FTL

So now i go to a $20 labor place and its $50 total. still beats the other places.
