I myself am a city boy and am FINALLY moving back to the city (NYC) but refuse to give up the thrill of a stick car, but as you said it is truly a matter of personal preference. You're also going to hear from alot of people that we drive sports cars, not minivans. The true heart and history of a sports car is a manual transmission...period. (no need to give a nasty reply, it's a fact)

I can drive just as fast as someone with a manual. It makes absolutly no difference. It's simply a matter of personal preference.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, not really...

Manuals arent "on the way out" and they never will be. It all started with shifting you own gears (when the first automobiles came out) and if its "too tough to drive in traffic" you dont belong behind the wheel of an MT car, period. If your going to complain, get an AT. If you complain even once, then you dont know what having a MT is all about. You tolerate the bad (traffic) for the good (Wide open roads, road courses, the satisfaction of knowing YOU are driving the car, no offense but AT in simple terms would be simply Point and Click, and its the whole thrill of holding gears hard into a turn, or slamming out of your first few gears that make your car feel like YOU are in control of every aspect of it.) While yes, AT's are becoming "smarter" and "faster" they dont see the traffic infront of you and adjust based on that. I fully understand and agree with MANY of the AT drivers on this board, its great to have in daily situations. I think people who grew up in a manual understand it more than anyone else, once you get used to it, you cant sit in an auto. As far as more and more gears make manual shifting slow and obsolete... Ive driven a 10 speed truck before, just because theres more gates, doesnt mean you slow down. While your AT is built for comfort, an MT is built to be driven HOWEVER you see fit. Want to granny the shifts like an auto does, hold the gear a little longer, shift a little lighter. Want performance? Slam every gear up to 6th (and hopefully those red flashing lights behind you dont catch up) Its part of the heritage of the automobile to come in manual trim. Saying its going out is just ignorant.

NOONE is going to give you $hit for buying a stick! As far as I'm concerned it's the only way to drive
) I originally heard December from the dealer but I would realistically say late January... Congrats!

Re: 2005 OFFICIAL THREAD
I would like to know if the new navi software will work for people with the current navi system. Any ideas? I would like an update to the software since the current one is out-dated.
Re: 2005 OFFICIAL THREAD
I'm getting an '05 6MT Coupe anyway, so these are the changes that I'm glad to see.
{b]Wheels/Tires:[/b] Not crazy about the new style of the 19", plan to change to other 19"s anyway, but they'll do until I do change. No biggie either way.
Engine: HP increase is nice... ...don't like TQ drop, but the increased redline and variable intake/exhaust cams are nice, along with "modifying and strengthening some internal engine components".
Drivetrain: Tripple-cone synchros on 1st-4th gears and softer mounts to improve shift smoothness and reuce shift lever vibration. I'm the sure it's a good trade-off for a little less of a direct-connection feeling with the trans.
Brakes: Would have been nice to have the Brembos, but if I ever need something for the track then I'll just upgrade. It's nice to at least get a bump in rotor diameter.
Interior: I'm not too picky. It looks good enough for me and they addressed the easy-to-scratch aluminum-look platic with the real deal. 8-way driver and 4-way passenger power seats should be standard on this car, so I'm glad they are now. Revised power walk-in device can't hurt, but I never did hear any of you guys complain about it before. lol
Telescopic steering column is a nice addition. Again, it can't hurt.
Navi: No plans for it, so no biggie to me. The only attraction is the built-in, OEM screen, but only to convert it to a DVD player.
Gauges/Audio: New cluster sounds nice. I do hate upshift lights on manuals! I'll be searching for that bulb. lol MP3 playback on the OEM unit is nice, as I rarely change head units in my cars. I'm a gear-head.
'05 IP(or ?) 6MT... ...Never too soon to think about modifications!!

Re: 2005 OFFICIAL THREAD
I just came from the Texas State Fair. They had a 2005 coupe there. No luck finding the new 19" rims. They had the old 17"s on there.
Here are pics of the dash. The wood is some ugly matte finish. Very cheap looking.
