Too cheap for Z Tube

OK. I got it. I can't believe any one hasn't tried something like this. It is an air duct with 2 holes. It's not that I can't afford it. I just spent 3k on tires and wheels. I was just trying to save a few bucks. With all the negative comments and not one positive, I'm done with this forum. I've seen too many negatives here. A guy just wants an opinion on something and gets bashed.

Stock is always better than a hacked d.i.y. mod
The hole you taped closed is downstream of the mass air flow sensor, therefore if it leaked you engine would instantly shut down(not get sucked in) due to the lack of air flow across the mass air flow sensor (I forget the exact code). My resonator actually cracked and started leaking from rough handling and the above happened. I machined a plug out of aluminum and polished it to seal the hole(which I replaced with the factory part). My air intake temperatures were actually slightly lower without the resonator. I'm guessing the duct tape would not stand the temperatures Throw the duct tape in the garbage or use it to seal cardboard boxes or something. I wouldn't be caught dead using duct tape on my lawn mower.
