Re: Got Into A Bad Accident =(
Okay, the tow truck just came and picked up my baby. =(
Thanks again for the support everyone.
My6SpeedCoupe, that crash looks really bad, sorry to hear/see what happened. I'm guessing the car is a total loss?
Basically, the car looks repairable. I need a whole new door, a new front right rim, new mirror, new sideskirt, new front body panel over the right front wheel, new body panel over right rear wheel, two new air-bags, and probably some other stuff. It's going to cost a crapload, but I guess that's what insurance is for.
As for the tints, that is gonna be weird when they replace the window. I think I'll just drive straight to the tint shop as soon as I pick it up and have them re-tint that front window.

Re: Got Into A Bad Accident =(
E,
The damage is not that bad...the only thing I hope is that the impact remained on the door and didn't twist any of the frame components. I mean if she was going 50 mph, she hit you hard. However, from the pics, its not too serious. The G's are very safe cars in accidents as I have had an accident myself (one of the vdc off ones). The car should be done relatively quick, the only thing thats gonna take a ton of time is the parts if they are not avail. If you didn't call the tow truck to pick the car up I woulda had you send it out to my bodyshop that had worked on my car. I have sent several g35's to them which is a shame, including 2fast's g35 which had the 20,000 worth of damage. They know these cars pretty well. Anyhow keep us updaated on whats going on and take advantage of the rental car from allstate, although its gonna most likely be the ill piece of crap.

Looking at the pictures, and not knowing if there is frame or underbody damage, I'm going to guess around $9,000 for the repairs.
I didn't see any glass in your interior? Was the passenger side window down at the time?
I think any quality shop would be able to make the necessary repairs so the damage would be unnoticeable.....
Lots of Luck

Re: Got Into A Bad Accident =(
Thanks for the body shop offers, I have read everybody's posts here. Yesterday afternoon I found a body shop in a town nearby and I called them up and the guy said he'd be able to fix my car and that he does deal with "high end models" all the time, such as Mercedes and BMW. They are called Eurotech Body Zone in Englewood, NJ. I would have looked around more, but when I called the guy up, he was really great over the phone and I just wanted to find a place to drop the car off at so I can get the work started ASAP.
The claim adjuster will hopefully get there this week and I'm going to obtain the police report on Monday or Tuesday (that's when the police officer stated it would be ready).
GR8TG35, my windows were down when the accident happened. The glass shattered inside the door because I pushed the button to bring the passenger side window up for a second (after the accident) and all I heard was cracking glass. I am also estimating the repairs to be in that price range as well. It might be more than that because there might be more damage than what meets the eye.

Re: Got Into A Bad Accident =(
Hey man, I can relate to your pain. My G is currently in the shop for $18,000 worth of damage after it was hit by 2 cars that had collided and then smashed into my parallel parked car. So I'm looking at a good 4 months before my G is back in my garage.
I think for your car, if anything is gonna delay your repair time will be resetting and replacing all the airbags that deployed. For some reason, they parts or the specialists that reinstall them are scarce and so it holds everything up.
For some reason, my G has bad Karma or something. I've never had a car that attracted so much negative sh*t happen to it constantly. I've been bumped a few times in parking lots, keyed a couple times, mysterious scratches just showing up, and now this.

Dont mean to hackjack this thread but if I am injured or shaken up caused by someone else's carelessness should I not sue them for the damage? The victim can have legitimate reasons to sue. Car crash can cause tremedeous psychological effect in addition to physical injuries, aside from the inconveniences.
The immediate loss is loss of usage of his/her vehicle and possible physical injury to that person. Internal injuries are unobservable by a naked eye and need to be checked out by a medical professional. Medical expensive and time off from work need to compensated.
Secondary damage might be psychological, the crash might leave the victim unable to operate a motor vehicle ever again. It might take minutes/days/weeks/month/years before he can return to his original state of mind.
Thirdly, the victim have to go out of his way from work everyday to either pick out a decent body shop to fix his car or haggle with a dealer to purchase a new car. All these time wasted he might be spending quality time with kids or family or doing activities he enjoy. There is only 24 hours a day, more time spent on getting the right body shop = less time to decompress after work or sleep.
Just put yourself in the victim's shoe. So much inconvenience just because you are driving along minding your own business. Of course you will like to receive some compensation for those loss. Insurance will cover vehicle damage at best but who's going to pay the rest?
Long story short. It's not fraud if the damages are real and legitmate and that's going to be settled in court and that's why people sue. All I am saying is your kindiness to someone today might not be returned tomorrow. I believe in karma so I do not promoting fraudulent activies but I do believe in fariness.
What is mine I will claim for it, compensation that can be backed by physical evidence should be collected. I am not going to play it off and say everything is fine, it's cool, don't worry about it it happens to everyone. I am talking about being fair not seeking revenge. (Sue the pants off of him so to speak.)
I am speaking from experience. I tried to be nice to someone who rear ended me while I was sitting at a red but he ended up trying to take advantage of my kindiness.
Hope your car will get fixed without any complications, and the other driver won't get dollar signs in her head. Good Luck. Mr.E.

Go to A&D Auto Body in Leonia NJ. He's right off of I 95. He has been fixing my car and my familys cars for 25 years. Go there, ask for Dom, tell him that Joey Avino sent you and said you would give him a good price. He fixed my bumper when someone rearended me and put 3 holes in it. He repaird the hoes and the dents and painted it for 300 bucks! He recently did my girlfriends mini cooper, he painter her a new hood, put stripes on it, and installed it (if anyone knows the mini has headlights in the hood) all for 750 dollars when Mini wanted 1350 to do the Job.
We have sent him Porsche's, My car, Benz's, he deals with high end cars all of the time. I was at his shop the other day and he was repainting a Corvette Z06 that got Keyed all of the way around. He will give you an amazing price trust me.
The number is (201) 461-6987 he's right there across the street from overpeck park if you know the area.
Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Got Into A Bad Accident =(
I never said you can't claim or file suit for legitimate damages. But your post was basically saying to sue a person regardless. It had no consideration for what damages were real. The reasoning behind filing a suit was not of damages but to take advantage of the situation simply for the fact someone else may do the same. The quote below is essentially the same thing you said in the first post I responded to.
"All I am saying is your kindiness to someone today might not be returned tomorrow. I believe in karma so I do not promoting fraudulent activies but I do believe in fariness."
Frankly, how kind a person is is irrelevant to a claim or lawsuit. The damages and injuries are. And if you truly believed in karma, wouldn't you actually be saying not to file suit so that someone else doesn't do the same? And as far as your experience, it sounds like the person who was at fault maybe is trying or tried(perhaps succeeded) in screwing you out of what was owed to you. But Mr. Ellusive appears to be the one in the wrong and you tell him to sue? Please explain that one? Or did you mean the person he was involved in the accident with should sue him? And she should now get an M3 out of the money she gets? Hmm?
