Stock springs are Linear.

Most or actually all spring sets available on the market are progressive and they transfer some traction towards the rear (not allot tho) so that's why most sets come with softer rear springs, to improve launching of the vehicle and handling improves due to the springs being progressive.

IMO there is absolutely no need to put on coil overs if you not planning to track the car. No need to throw money out on things you will never use.

did you'r bro cut the springs or installed aftermarket set?

there are different type of coil overs available. There are "true" coil overs and retarded ones.

In order to achieve lovering of the car "true" coil over screw into the base of the coil over and your spring rate remains the same, so you get lover high of the vehicle but you don't compromise the ride quality. Retarded kind of coil overs does not screw into the base. Lovering is achieved by compressing the spring. With this you get hell of a bouncy car and eventually permanent brain damage.

Advantages of coil overs is that you can change the ride hight and spring rate on demand. So if you taking a car on a track and need it to be as stiff as a mother fvcker........you compress the spring. Even on the softest settings most coil overs are stiffer than most of the aftermarket springs.

So if you not planning on tracking the car.............coil overs are not needed.
Simply get a set of aftermarket springs. Ride quality will remain similar to stock and you get some improvement in handling department.

Bc racing br type. I just installed a set on my 03 coupe and its sweet.... I had stock struts with 350 springs on it before and the Bc's were a huge improvement.

Tanabe Pro-5 coils aren't bouncy, just fairly stiff.

It depends on how low you want to go. Lowering too much on springs will kill your OEM struts.

lovering "anything" will eventually kill OEM struts/shocks.

Get aftermarket shocks if you plan on getting springs. Tokico d-specs are popular.

The main reason I got coils over springs is for the adjustability. Ive adjusted my height many times to get the look that I wanted, can't do that with springs.....

Being able to adjust the height with coilovers is amazing, you can perfectly tweak your ride height to exactly what you want, where as with springs you may grow tired of them and want a new set. Plus adjustable dampening is amazing, it totally changes the feel of the car.

Not to mention, with the current prices of BC and F&F coilovers, etc the price of a set or two of springs plus aftermarket struts and you might as well have bought the coilovers.
