Ok first of all I dont know why all the bashing has taken place on a person who was simply showing their interest in offering up an alternative to an already overpriced part that will see the same power gains if not more. Its not plastic, nor is it just a silicone sleave. The silicone tubing will be used to connect the intake to the throttle body and the mass air sensor. As far as enignes are concerned, you must keep one thought in mind, FLOW. How much flow can I get in and how much out. You dont want restricitons on the amount of air the motor can breath in, especialy with a N/A motor. So yes a straight shot directly to the t/b is the best way to achieve that. I can promise you that the cost to build this kit will be less than a Z-tub and filter combo. I hope to be able to offer the factory filter kit for $75-80 bucks painted whatever color, and the "cold air kit" or Z style kit, for around 125-150 painted whatever color. This does not mean its "cheap" or less "impressive", it just means that someone is not greedy and wants to offer a less expensive way to attain the same results...more power less cost. The material used is extremely durable and does not hold heat like a metal tube, it is a porous material that allows for maximum heat dissapation. I promise my car makes much more heat under my hood than these cars do, and my kit is fine.

^ you may be true about performance, but you have to remember half of the people on here would rather go for looks then performance.

^I'll take a good looking intake that will net hmmm maybe 1 or 2 hp less(if that's even the case) than one that's gonna net me a couple more HP that's gonna have no impact as that amount of difference would never be noticeable on a ~280+ hp car. You want something that's gonna net you some gains get a plenum spacer. On independent dyno's pretty much all intakes for our cars are within ~5hp which like i said will not be noticeable in a G.

Im calm, just slightly agitated, she got on here to, as stated, simply offer up a possible alternitve to over priced niche marketing. She is also concerned about looks, but we build cars for BOTH show and go. Whats the point in owning a "performance" car that moves like a brick.. So adding heavy body kits, heavy wheels, heavy intakes, ect., makes no sense to us when you can achieve both looks and performance. These cars are already heavy weighing in at just over 4k lbs and only powered by a restricted v6, they need alot of help to get moving. I'll try and get the car to my local dyno and test both applications to see just what the gains are as far as power, torque, power curve and a/f ratio.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people think stretching tires to fit rims that are to wide for the tires looks good, when in reality it looks "tacky" and is ridiculusly unsafe. Some people think lambo doors are cool, again total waste of money. So to each his own. I'd rather build a car that can do both and when you are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of an engine, yeah every hp/tq you gain counts.
