regular shift **** works on auto???

so, i went to a auto parts shop... they only do japanese cars... and the guy was japanese.

he told me that any shift **** will fit my automatic.. if the kind that doesnt have a button on it.

how do you shift then?... he said all you have to do is push on the top a little.
thoughts? true? false? thanks

I own German performance cars... I just bought a G35... I like the G35... thank you...bye now.

Re: regular shift **** works on auto???

I wonder if something was lost in translation here...

All of the replacement AT shift ***** that I have seen have some way of dealing with the button. Typically, if a **** does not have an external button, the button is built into the ****. To activate it, you push down on the whole **** itself.

Just make sure you get the **** for an Automatic. ***** for manual transmission cars will not work.

Re: regular shift **** works on auto???

i agree with you... but he seemed pretty confident. he said that any shifter would work..even the kind without a button on it. his explanation is the the actual plastic button on the stalk is on the top of the stalk... making any shifter work. he says i just have to push down on the entire shifter to simulate pushing a button. he said it would be good enough to push the hold shifter down.

Re: regular shift **** works on auto???

Basically, any shift **** should work on the auto coupes because it has no button to shift into gear. That's what the brakes are for.

I think it works just like the acura cl-s auto. I changed the auto **** out in the cl with no problems yet. It's been over a year. Mechanic told me the same thing when i ordered the ****, no button therefore, the manual ***** will fit right on and work.

Re: regular shift **** works on auto???

You really don't need a button on ours. You just push the whole manual **** down, and it does the same thing!
