My G faster then others?

alright this seems weird as hell. so i met a few other G owners in my area, and we were cruising the other day. they are all 6mt along with mine. so we stop at a light and decide to run it. all of our G's are stock. so the light turns green, we all go. my G took off much faster then the otehrs, and they were all lined up all the way down. we did it again, and once again my G took off faster. so we stop and talk about it. i drove a fellow G members car and took off. it seemed slower. That guy drove my G and said mine was a hell lot faster. weridest thing, anyone have any idea how?

There will always be differences in output between the motors and driveline and everything else that gets involved. You can build 10 motors the same exact way, to the same specs, and they will all have different outputs. Maybe you got lucky! The only eyebrow raiser is that it was a very noticeable difference. Who knows!

yea i know since its a huge production line, that its not always going to be 100% the same. but yea there was a pretty big difference in pickup. i mean all the cars are stock, they had a hard time believing me until i showed them.

Re: My G faster then others?

But how would that explain the difference when he switched cars with his buddy? His car was still faster with the other dirver driving it?

how many miles did each G have? maybe your G was more broken in or just broken in better? who knows... but yea not all cars are going to be exactly the same in terms of output...

Re: My G faster then others?

who knows... could be one clutch is slighty diffrent than the others. regardless every so often u get a ringer out of the factory.
Break in could also be responsible for this diff. I had my car dyno'ed bone stock out in Queens at DRT and i put down 245 at the wheels. The tuner at DRT said it was because i push the car the ECU is more likey to put out more power. Its could be total BS but regardless i put down some decent numbers bone stock.

Believe it or not it could also be what oil everyone is running. Thicker oil will actually decrease power slightly, but I doubt it is as significant as what you experienced. I think the break in idea might be more relistic.

Diesel1: Not to pick a fight, but looking at the G in your sig. I'm missing the "clear corners" the "OEM front lip," "blacked chrome valence" & "splash guards."

Is that an old picture b/f you added those things?

I like the 20% tint though. Do you have any pics showing those mods, I'd like to see what some of them look like!

Edit: Nevermind I found the pic in your stack, why didn't use your last picture?? Nice.

my car has 8,??? miles on it. fairly new. not sure about the others. it could be a breaking in issue. i was just stunned when i switched cars and noticed the big difference.

WRAH: does that look a bit better?

It was right there in his profile...

Birds: might it be that you just have a factory freak?! I know that it's impossible with today's production technologies, etc. But I do believe there are some rare blessed ones out there that are quicker. The only way to know is to take it to a dyno shop, or if you're into that even to the track and see what you're running compared other stock 6MT.

Re: My G faster then others?

yea im going to head over to the track at some point. but see maybe i have a lucky car in some ways but then again, it could be the reasoning behind all the problems im having wiht my G....such as transmision issues, engine light pops up at random times then goes away, high to low idle, tire pressure light issues often, and random stalling in nuetral. ive brought my car to the dealer many times to fix all these problems. maybe its a lemon car for all i know.

Re: My G faster then others?

I used to stall in neutral all the time. Randomly, youd just be sitting there and click....off. Not touching any pedals or even holding the shifter... Just stalls like its dead. Starts right back up though. Usually stalls within 1-5 minutes of turning on though so I never got into a "mess" because of it (I let my car warm up before driving, Im ****). At about 15k (coincidentially when I started modding the ever living sheet outta my car) it just stopped doing it, and *knock wood* hasnt for 5K miles. I dunno, it was always when it was cold out though, always when I had slightly over or just on 3/4's of a tank, and always when I had just run the car for a signifcant amount of time. My bet was it was always something to do with the temp readings in the intake line... I heard something about this before, as well as faulty readings from the MAF cause stalling. I dunno, maybe my car was just screaming at me to mod it, but then again, I have run with alot of things that you guys say I shouldnt.... I pass S2000's alot worse than in that 350z vs S2000 video when I was stock. Who knows, maybe theres just some "freaks" out there.
