Got back my G from the dealership.

Well the title of this posts says it all, but i noticed that since i got my new motor the car shakes when reved up to 1,000 and 2,000 rpms after that it doesn't shake. While at a stop sign or red light it shakes (not the brakes) when Im at a complete stop. But while cruising no shake at all. I took it back the day after i got it and they told me to wait until the engine breaks in and it should stop, which i think is complete bull****. so until i hit 1,200miles im stuck what do you guys think ?

Motors Mounts? When on the gas, the engine moves forward, and adds force down on the mounts, the reason no shake. Just a thought

I would bring it right back and say this is a possible serious issue with the install and something needs to be done.

bs. the engine isnt breaking in by making the whole car vibrate. I had my engine replaced for consuming oil and in the new engine the whole 6th cylinder seized up at less than 200 miles. I think the tech started the car with no oil in it. They ended up putting another whole long block in it.

Tell them you want to road test a new g37 and your car and ask why it doesnt shake. Technically all the new cars on the lot have not had the engines broken in.

Isn't it just flipin amazing, rather than taking the time to put the G on a rack and checking things like motor mounts they give you the same old line of **** that it's normal. I would have told them it's not normal and it has zero to do with the engine being new. My guess would be there's a motor mount that isn't tight or one of them is broken. Ya gotta love Infiniti service personnel, correctly trained my azz!

I had the exact problem when I had an exhaust pipe touching something. Our engines move alot. Have them check the mounts for the stock cats, make sure all bracing in tightened. The main spot were the exhaust makes vibrations on our cars in the main center brace, that protects the exhuast underneath the car. Slightly off hangers and the exhaust will rub there. They may put washers to bring it down slightly, lamefix but it works. I remember my new long block car had this same problem

@ in2win great to hear they fixed the problem man.

im still waiting for them to call me back. the weird part is that it does it between 1,000 & 2,000 rpms not at 2,000 to 3,000 but then again at 3,000 to 4,000. i never took it past 4,000 rpms tho because i wanted to break in the engine properly. it feels like when your driving a 6MT and you come off of the clutch and the car strives to stay on because its going to stall, thats what it feels like. but the shake is more aggressive

btw just throwing this out there, is there anyone who didn't break in their engine properly ? i really hate not going past 60 it feels like everyone is flying by me and not passing 4,000 rpms IMO thats when u really hear what the car sounds like.
