Beware of "Yangsta"

Never thought I would ever have to make a thread like this...long story short I bought the "Brand new" set https://g35driver.com/forums/exterio...ights-new.html

Had it shipped to a PO box in Buffalo NY, drove there will a fellow g35driver member (geerider), we opened the box and right away we knew these aren't brand new (Both lights had haze) and both headlights were scratched up beyond repair probably from the poor packing job he did (Used a surround sound speaker box 2x the size needed to ship the lights in nor did he individually wrap the lights to protect them from rubbing against each other, or sufficient packing material so they wouldn't move around) I'm just glad no one bought these from my For sale thread as I was planning on selling my car and was trying to flip and ship them from the PO box in Buffalo under the assumption that I had purchased Brand new headlights.

I contacted him afterwards, he agreed to provide me a refund if I shipped them back, was very hesitant to do this but he had my money and said would only refund me back AFTER I provided a tracking number, sent the tracking #, and have not heard back from him. I have sent him numerous emails and PMs I know he has received my messages as he logs into driver almost everyday and before the purchase he would respond right away!

Also some advice do not make purchases through paypal using the gift option unless you trust the seller as this has totally screwed me over, paypal cannot do anything about it but only freeze his account. So I am out $500 + $50 for storage fees because he took forever to get back about providing a refund.

I have been more than patient with this clown and told him I would make a post about this and contact paypal etc. if he did not respond... you left me no choice you wanksta

Wow man I'm really sorry to hear that. Definitely not a fun experience. It's always nice to know who not to purchase from.

Yeah, I would never suggest to ANYONE, I don't care who the seller is, to send money as a gift. 3.5% is a small fee to pay for peace of mind. Sorry to hear, hope you get your money back.

From the FS thread, the pics look fine to me..

Why don't you post a picture of what you got?

--------

Also why would you send it as a gift? Why not just add the paypal fees to his asking price. You're paying the same amount no matter what.

^he wanted more $ if I didnt want to send as gift cuz he didnt want to be charged the paypal fees (I didn't think much of it as I never had any problems buying stuff before on g35driver I thought it would have been just another smooth transaction)... lesson learned like Nachocheese said 3.5% is a small fee for peace of mind.

Pictures are irrelevant as I can post pics of brand new lights and ship out 03 lights if i was that type of person...
(I do have pics just waiting on geerider to upload them from his phone)

I ordered Works VS-XX from Don@tireOptions and I made the first payment with Paypal gift because the fee for the amount would have been crazy. He told me 2 months but now its going into the 4th month. Hearing this story is getting me really worried and paranoid.

Keep in mind in no way am I bashing Don as of yet, I can understand that he can be handling a lot of orders, and he also'd let me know that it missed first shipment. But, going on 2 months late? It does worry me...

Sending as a gift doesn't incur the 3.5% charge

vendors are usually responsible, especially the bigger ones so i wouldn't worry, sometimes they are at the mercy of the manufacturer and their build times for wheels.

as for wanksta, through pm's i have seen of his he seems to be very price conscious and very very concerned about every dollar. i almost bought headlights off him but after seeing his pm's to other people i backed off just because of his every dollar in my pocket counts type of thinking....

i don't see this ending well unfortunately, but lets give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he owns up to this...

it seems this is a common occurrence on forums when someone is right about to move out of the platfiorm, my recommendation is to get the police involved with all you information, pictures, any messages sent and any information you have on him.

the police will pursue this issue even if it is canada to usa or usa to canada.
it will take time but take it up with your local authorities and wait the 5 months or so it will take for them to complete the process to retrieve your money before they charge him and issue a court ordered refund cheque.

Really? I sent a $10 as a gift and the total amount charged to me was $10.59. So you're still charged a fee.

Thats wierd, I don't think you sent it correctly. I never got charged a fee by sending it as a gift. And it was in the thousands, not 10 bucks.

You sure? That would completely defeat the purpose of having a gift option, imo.

With all the members DRIVER has there's bound to be a few "Butt Heads," you just need to do business with those that have a great track record or one of our SPONSORS. I bought my projectors from eBay, something I never thought I'd do. But they showed up as advertised "New in Box" and his eBay rating was 100%. Sorry for your situation with Yangsta, hope you get your $ back!

Damn sorry to hear bro, hope you get everything sorted out. **** sucks!

As for the gift comments. If you send as PERSONAL>Gift you DO NOT get charged for paypals fees. If you got charged fees you obviously didn't send it as gift. I've done dozens of transactions with the gift option and have not once been charged the 3.5% fee nor has people i've sent the payment to.
