I guess i got a coin behind the ash tray and it wont open! I pushed it in again to try to open it and now it jammed in the unlock position! I did a search on coin try removal but the sounds like the wright ups are for the 03-04 center console! My car is an 06 5AT. What do i need to do other than remove the shift know and put it in neutral?

Lol I'm just trying to figure out if you can pop a center console out by the shifter on a 06 5AT like how the 04 5AT does?

 

just put a small screw driver underneath the silver piece that surrounds the shifter and the whole piece should just pop out.

if just screw off the shift **** and then take off the ashtray then it will be good as new

 

Solution after you get this fixed don't keep coins in your ash tray, that's one of the reasons we have pockets....Oh and you will have eliminated a rattle....
