If they have a clear coat on them like Volk rims than your screwed. They need to have the clear coat stripped and than re-done by a rim repair shop. Usually do not get the same results as manufacture. Another option is to strip rims than just have them polished. For light spots or scratches some people had success using Bon Ami.
If your repairs were covered under insurance contact them to resolve issues.

Grocery store, wally world anyplace that has a good selection of dish detergent. Its in a powder form like coment.
