ok so ive only had my g35 for about 2 months now (love it). its a 2007 g35 5at with 31k miles. ive noticed when i come back from a drive when the engine is nice and heated, there is a very quiet but still noticable knocking sound coming from the engine. it speeds up when i rev it up to 2-3k rpm. it hasn't been getting worse or anything and I can't feel any difference when i drive or think its of any immediate concern but i'd hate to be wrong. any thoughts??

 

I think its normal my 04 105k miles did that also never had any problems with it. The knock wasnt really noticeable only when i listen really carefully i and gave it a lil bit of gas so rpms would go up a lil i would hear the knock... might not be the same knock tho

 

does yours sound like its metallic? mine isnt too noticable either, only after a longer drive especially when i am driving fast.

 

Remember, these are chain driven motors and they are a bit more noisy than belts.

 

i get the knocking too.

appreciate the post but that says for 2003-2006, Will this also work with the 2007 (which i have)?

 

I hear the same thing. Most likely a normal sound for this engine.
