Oh by the way? will the blue filter that came on my JWT POPCHARGER fit in the airbox from the stillen system? It looks like the same size filter and velocity stack combo?

can someone explain since its determined that an aftermarket intake doesnt do anything for the g35s where are the manufacturers getting their hp increase numbers from? also if everyone know metal intake pipes attract heat why do they continue to make it out of metal?

IMO the metal= stylish so they make it in order to appeal to a mass of buyers. Lots of people like a little bling under the hood!!!! The hp numbers are probably estimates based on other cars , their results and using a bunch of fancy calculations using measurments of air flow, but never proven in real life.

The marketing teams twist on some random bs math by the r&d department. Metal is shiny and eye catching, nobody looks at the car that is pure performance in the engine bay but plain looking vs the shiny car.

If you do a search around the forums you will usually get a pretty good idea of what kind of power gains (or lack of) you can expect. Most of the common opinions are based off of dynos by members posted before and after their mods. Or if you search well you can actually find the dyno posts and see them yourself, these are all independent/non-bias opinions of buyers not the companies.

When doing dynos on the intakes the vehicles are inside a building. They place a fan in from of the vehicle simulating moving air or a car going down the highway. The problem is it's hard to test the intake in every temperture setting in doors. The colder the airflow the more hp you will potentially recieve from the intake, while hot airflow will decrease performance. Heat is the killer of engines, transmissions, differentials ext, that's why it's important to try and keep everything as cool as possible. Now with that said. We are not saying that an intake doesn't produce any hp, we are saying that it doesn't produce much hp. But in conjunction with an exhaust, plenium spacer ext, you may see some very good gains from the combination. Do you ever wonder why your car runs like an Indy car in the winter? It's the cold air being sucked into the engine. Hope this help?
