Hub/Bearing Assembly...this seem right??

Whats up guys. Been having an issue lately with the front right side of my car. Getting a grinding/whistling noise. I think it's the bearing/hub assembly. I took it to the nearest automotive/tire place in my area and they told me that is was the Hub going bad. They quoted at $606 + tax....WTF?!?! Does that sound right? He said there is a sensor in there or something and that's why it costs so much. He also said I needed to brakes and rotors and that'd be another $389. What the hell. But I was wondering, does that $600 sound about right? I saw at z1 motorsports and eBay that you can get a G35 coupe front hub assembly for about $140 excluding install of course. What do you guys think??? Thanks in advance.

Anyone know where I can buy the front hub assemblies for a G35 coupe without going through the dealer? I see that eBay has some for about $134...anywhere else? Thanks

I had to replace mine. I've looked around everywhere for them with good pice. I got mine for around $134 at riverside infiniti (they have ebay store since you are nowhere near socal) I installed them by myself, it was really hard because of all the rust and all. I would go to a local shop and have them istalled.
hope this helps!

Yea, it does help. I was just trying to see exactly how much they were. I'll send Riverside Infiniti a PM and see how much they are shipped. As far as getting them installed, labor should be around $100 right?

Haha. You just kept hope alive! But a used one for $80?! How and where'd you find that at?? Also, when you say used...was it used to the point where you would have to replace it again soon or was it fairly new?

-Thanks

I found it at a used parts dealer..they have over 100 cars from what I saw when I was there. The place is massive but the spindle and hub looks pretty good, in good condition. They inspect the parts before you buy them but I didnt even have to use it when the performance shop fixed the problem.

Hello, I went onto car-parts.com and got this listing of hub assemblies: http://car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi

Are the nissan and infiniti hubs interchangeable? I've been told that they are basically the same part but I dont want to mess around and get a 350z hub and it doesn't quite fit. would the 2003 Hub Assembly FRT HUB ONLY work or would the best bet be the 2006 Hub Infiniti G35 Fr, RWD- be a better bet since it got a grade of "A"?

^The majority of the suspension parts on the G and Z are the same. I'm sure they are interchangeable, I would verify the part numbers with a dealership first.

Shop time should be $65-85 for a non-dealer shop, depending on the area you live in. You should be able to look up an estimate of how long it will take from an ASE estimate book...don't have a copy to check.
