if u had a chance, what would u rather have, your g35 coupe or a black 98 supra 6spd TT with about 40000 miles on it??

the G, but that's ONLY because of reliability issues... i know it's toyota, but if you had a supra TT for that long, don't you think you would have beat the hell out of it?

That's one policy I will ALWAYS follow... I'd buy used SUV's, luxury vehicles, anything else... but if it's at all sporty, it's gotta be brand new.

If it wasn't for the used reliability factor, hands down the supra... that's one of my all time favorite cars.

Get the Supra. It's reached legendary status and its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster than the G.

supra no doubt... but a new car is a new car..so a g35.. but then again, if there was anything wrong with the turbos, you could always rebuild it. good as new. the supras have a strong engine and can take the abuse.. if the g35 didn't have navi i would have bought a supra instead... the supra is definitely a driver oriented kind of car.. the whole dash and the center console totally surrounds you.. same with the rx-7..

the g35 seems like it's passenger oriented.. LOL WTF is with the volume button, temp button, and the navi joystick on the passenger side? the most used controls are on the passenger side.. haha stupid nissan.

if toyota still made supras with the same 93-98 styling right now with an updated interior, i would have totally bought a supra instead. but then again the supras interior is better than the g35.. except all the digial stuff the g has...

I would get the Supra. It's one of the last great Japan Super Sports Car. We may never see another inline 6 twin turbo performance car like that again. Plus I think the design of the Supra will never die out.

 

I found myself in this very same scenario right before I was ready to buy my G. A week before I was about to buy, a friend of mine offered to sell his custom painted pearl bronze 1997 Supra Turbo. I thought hard about it, but it had about 60,000 miles on it. It was a hard decision, but ended up going with the more reliable new car. Like any used car, no matter how well the exterior looks, you never know the actual history. With a new car you can be guaranteed that you'll raise that car since birth! I say go with the G35!!!...oh wait...then again, it is the legendary Twin Turbo SUPRA!!

not to be mistaken the g35 is an awsome car but some peoples dream car is a lambo or a ferrari or a viper or somthing, mine is a 93+ Supra TT

If you love the car, then get it!! I would take the supra ANY DAY over the G, but also dont get me wrong guys, you know i love my G!! Look at all the time and money i put into it, and its LEASED, yes that horrible word lol... But im glad because i am sorry to say sick of the sedan, only because its an auto i want a manual and a coupe, after being in and seeing my friends 800+ HP supra i would want and take one in a sec, but it isnt practical for me since i need a year round car to drive in, my G barely gets through the winter, i drive it like 2 weeks out of the whole winter LOL!!!!

Not that it's relavant to this thread, but i watched tons of Japanese motoring videos in college. They almost all said that as a platform, the Skyline platform was superior to the Supra platform, for traction issues. (Video was comparing GTR to Supra TT) They said that after about 700hp, the car has problems laying the power to the ground, whereas the Skyline was able to lay down the power just fine at 1000hp. The videos usually showed the GTR owning the Supra when power output was at or greater than 700hp for both cars.

My boss claims otherwise, (his supra dynos around 700 rwhp) But I asked him if he ever uses the NOS, (he has a huge tank in the rear), and he said no, because it doesn't make a difference, because his tires already break loose in almost every gear except 6th.

That being said, I think the Supra TT looks rather sedated unless fixed up... Maybe it's because the stock rims are so plain. Now if this was a Skyline GTR or Supra TT, then the answer would be easy [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]. But I agree with the previous poster, I still like my G35 better. My boss keeps hassling me to race, so I just tell him to donate me his old turbos, and I'd think about it.

 

Yea my friend sent his car to japan and got it fully rebuilt, he is putting down 800+ at the wheels and is over 1000hp, he wants to sell it now because he says its no fuin and he took me up to 4th gear which was like 100 going slow LOL, and the tires were spinning!! Its dangerous when you get up that high, he hates driving it now!!

Since the Supra is your dream car, I'd say go for it, if you think the car will hold up as well as your G. The only problem I have with the Supra is the stock wheels. It just can't get any less interesting. You must get new rims for it.
If it was me, although I love the Supra as well, the only way I get a used sports car is as a 2nd "fun" car. I would never get one used for my primary transportation. To me it's a bit risky.

i had a supra in high school... but i have to say i love the g alot more.

 

I'd take the Supra TT over the G.
