Went to the dealer to get the airbag recall checked out and they said its the reason the lights keep coming on. Well see what happens when they get the airbag module sorted.

My lights came on sunday for 25 miles i was scared and babied her home. I turn her off took the key of ignition took a breath and turn on the car it went away. Now after reading post i think ill change my pads which have plenty of life left even though they are the oem ones that came with this 05.
I hardly use brakes.

I had the brake switch push through the brake pedal during hard braking. The switch plunger pushed through the plastic/rubber pad on the brake pedal arm.

I replaced the pad with an pushpin and didnt get the light anymore.

may not be related..dunno..

Hi All,

First, let me thank all of you for sharing your experiences with these 3 lights, as it saved me from getting a new car. On July 30th, 2024, I took my G35X to a local mechanic after both the VDC, Slip, and ABS lights ALL came on at the same time. Also, the car drastically lost power, which I imagine is some type of "limp mode" for safety/function. By August 13th, the mechanic was 85% sure that the Codes he was reading were transmission related, but also wanted to check the mass air flow sensor and throttle body. As you could imagine, they had my car for 2 weeks, and given they had no answers other than they thought it was 85% the transmission, I showed up and got my keys to drive my car home. However, the battery was dead, so after I had the mechanic jump me off, I drove the car home in Limp Mode and was saying my goodbyes...ready to donate it or sell it for $500 on Craigslist. When I got home, I let the car run to charge the battery, and when I came out to turn the car off, I happened to walk around the back of the car and noticed my BRAKE LIGHTS were on. I couldn't figure out why...until I learned about brake light switches from some of you. This explained why the battery was dead, and sent me down the road to change the brake light switch in hopes of a miracle. While I was down there, I noticed the switch plunger was sticking through a hole...which I thought was odd...but proceeded to buy a new switch and replace it. However, after replacing the switch, the brake lights were still on, and I learned it wasn't the switch: it was the missing plastic pieces that sit in those holes to give the plunger something to rest on. I happened to look on the floorboard and found small pieces of broken plastic that would fit in that hole. I found a random screw and washer to plug up the hole, reinstalled the brake light switch, and amazingly, no lights or limp mode anymore. It wasn't a transmission or throttle body or mass air flow censor: it was a $0.15 part.

I am grateful to all of you for your help. I also wanted to post this, as the car loosing power and going into limp mode seemed to warrant a major mechanical issue that was transmission or engine related. I am by no means a car expert, but it's possible that in addition to all 3 lights, someone else may also experience "Limp Mode" if something is wrong with their brake system, especially if their car is an AWD like mine. Thanks for all your help and wisdom that came from all of you sharing your experience.
