I have an 03 coupe and just notice this yesterday, everytime I start the engine it acts like it doesn't want to start and then it starts.

Is it my battery? Never replaced it...

Sounds like your starter motor.

 

^^ sounds like starter is having trouble.

 

Replace your battery.....damn its seven years old and your lucky it lasted that long.Most battery's last about 5 years at most even though they have longer warranty's.


It's not the starter.

 

try battery first before starter motor. i have an 04 and just replaced the factory battery had the same sound when cranking. jumped it twice no problems jumped it a third time and car didn't want to move after it cranked, changed battery and all is well. most auto parts stores will check your battery for free.

 

Run a test on ur battery,same thing happend to me a couple of months back and it was my battery...

 

If its the starter motor. Can it be replaced?

 

everything on a car can be replaced.

 

Replace the battery first, I doubt its the starter.

its your battery same thing happen to me then all of a sudden it didnt turn on at all, replaced the battery and started normal.
