maybe the roof was painted black prior to sell, then in fearing car wouldn't be able to sell with black roof he did a ghetto macco job????

i think it is a cheap paint job that was not prep right. i think that is primer down there?

That picture gave me the *******... If it was painted before, find out from who and take it back to them. Their reputation should be riding on it.

i doubt you will get anything from the previous owner.....You usually buy cars "as is".

There is no way that is factory paint. Do you know what kind of sh*tstorm would happen if everyone's car looked like that after a washing? I know these cars don't have amazing quality paint jobs, but that's absurd. It looks like the paint was layered on top without any adhesion to the undercoating. Once you get a crack or tear in the paint layer, everything just comes undone.

It reminds me of when I painted a deck when it was too cold out (end of summer/start of fall), after the winter season passed and summer came back, all of the paint just started peeling and chipping off in chunks.

Better ask the seller.

This was my first thought as well. OTOH you probably don't want them painting it again, and it's unlikely they'll compensate you for the sh1tty job. Time to make like the Stones and paint it black.
