Washed my car and I get this.....

OP - I suppose an overlay would be cheaper than a repaint if you don't mind knowing there's no paint under it...should be protected okay, but might not hurt to check with a pro to know for sure.

new on here and dont post much but had to chime in as ive been in a bodyshop my whole life (fam business)
PROBMEM: this is a problem with cheap clear and bad prep from what i can tell from pic and what you say. ive had problems with cheap aftermarket clears yellowing with time a couple of times and ended up dropping the product.
Also someone mentioned that an adhesion promoter wasnt used ...wrong that is only used on bumpers and non metal components and this is to bond the primer to the plastic ..speaking from experience redoing a few bumpers for free
another thing if you use a pressure washer to wash your car DO NOT use the oscilating or pulsing feature!!! this can catch the smallest chip and take big chunks off ..again did it learned the hard way loll ..use lightest setting to be safe or to be safer a bucket and sponge!!
ADVICE find the guy that sprayed it and ask him to fix it ..if he is any good he'll do it for free or cost of paint materials at most ...if he gives u **** hes not good and doesnt care about reputation and you shouldnt do it there anyway ...go to the dealer and ask who they use to paint and pay what they ask and do it right!
Also have a bone to pick with ppl that speak to things they do not know about! please dont do it! unless you KNOW what youre talking about mention that its your opinion otherwise people get the wrong impression and go off false info. (sry its just very irritating being an actual proffesional in the field)

if you bout the car a few months ago and didnt see any bubbling or peeling i doubt the previous owner screwed you. Maybe some a$$ poured something on it? anyways whats done is done just look at like this now you get to get a black roof, you can vinyl over the damage or have it painted black.

I asked the owner, he said he never repainted. And like lilindien said, if i didn't notice it before, then he probably never painted it. I did a thorough inspection since it was my second G.
If this was just a poor, poor paint job on the manufacturer's part, I could possibly get this warrantied. What do you guys think? I mean look at the way the paint peeled, can the dealer really prove that it was repainted (even if it wasn't?).
