Wow, that's near where I live. I take that road to and from work everyday. Looks like the same car as mine. Freaky.
I definitely don't know him though.
Another case showing how drinking and driving don't mix. I can't stand people who drink and drive and laugh it off like its no big deal. It's not funny at all.

Man charged in crash that kills 2
October 7, 2004, 7:23 PM EDT
A Wantagh man was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his car early Thursday, crashed into a tree and killed his two passengers, State Police said.
Anthony Raffio, 23, was driving a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe at a high rate of speed south on Wantagh State Parkway about 1 a.m. when he lost control, slid across the road and onto the shoulder before crashing into a tree, police said.
Ruffio and two passengers in the car, Matthew Adduci, 29, of Bethpage and Ginamarie Dellanno, 23, of Massapequa were taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where Adduci and Dellanno were pronounced dead. Raffio suffered a concussion and was admitted to the hospital. His condition was not known last night and his family could not be reached for comment. The families of Adduci and Dellanno declined to comment Thursday.
Raffio, who may face additional charges pending the ongoing investigation, is to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.

Update:
On my way home from work this evening, I clearly saw where the crash occurred on the Wantagh Parkway. I drive this road everyday, so I know what was there and what's new. Well, I saw these REALLY long, and really DARK tire skid marks in the road going all the way from the left lane, across the entire width of the road to the right, then some ripped up grass on the right shoulder, and finally all the way into the woods, where I saw this tree with some very visible trunk and bark damage from where the car impacted it. At the base of the tree was an arrangement of flowers, so there's no doubt this is the spot. I definitely didn't see these tire skid marks on the way home last night (it just happened at 1AM last night).
For those of you familiar with the Wantagh Parkway, its on the southbound side, at the end of that long straight stretch of road that runs south of Merrick Road to just before the first bridge as you're heading towards Jones Beach.
Because its straight, and usually light traffic, its a common stretch where people like to wind their cars out. Given how long and dark these skidmarks were, and the amount of damage to the tree and the car, I would estimate he was probably doing about 140 when he first lost control of the car, and probably impacted the tree at about 50. I counted 4 skid marks, which means he got the car sideways, and it skidded off the road going sideways. There was a turn coming up just before he lost control, and my guess is he panicked when he saw the turn and jerked the wheel, or he slammed the brakes while jerking the wheel, which at that speed immediately put the car into a spin. Who knows if he had the VDC on or off, but at that speed it doesn't really matter - it can only do so much.
Really sad.
