What kind of mods will end up my warranty??
What kind of mods will end up my warranty??
Hi, i already have a JWT pop charge + Z tube on my 06 G coupe and i'm looking to buy a catback exhaust for it. Is this could end up my powertrain warranty?
Any mod that they can prove assisted in causing the problem your bringing it in for will void out the warranty on that area of the problem. Big fat twin turbos will void your warranty on the entire powertrain!
When i took in my car for warranty i ask the S.A and he said boost, any ecu modification(flash), messing with plenum. What was funny i had 1/2 MD spacer guess they didnt notice it, i have HKS full exaust and intake.
This and what spinna said. Any mod to the ECU will void your warranty
I went in to the dealership when I was still NA and got warranty work done(valve covers) no questions asked, I had:
K&N filter & Z-tube
5/16" spacer
grounding kit
High flow cats and cat back exhaust
Osiris tune
If you have an osiris tune all you have to do it set it to your stock map when you take it in, there is no way for them to know you've been flashed other than analyzing the ecu code line by line.

We've had members with OC issues denied due to HKS exhaust and Nissan Corp backed the stealership. This is somewhat uncommon but if the dealership wants to be chickensh!t they will find a reason to deny coverage....

Its pretty much up to the discretion of the service manager, if they are cool they can hook you up I've even heard of boosted guys getting warranty work before.
But if they want to be a dick... they can deny you warranty for something as simple as an intake, and while you are in the right, if you try to fight it its an uphill battle you probably wont win

It also goes by when was the car was first serviced. My car was first serviced in dec of 06. So my regular warranty not the power-train is up in December of this year or if 60,000 miles come first.
