Soon to be g coupe owner, question about spoiler

Hello everyone

Name is Kevin. Soon to be a g35 coupe owner. I was thinking of getting a 2005 g35 fully loaded, but now after researching I like the 2006 fully loaded. The only thing is I like the spoiler that came on the 05 vs the 06. I found like ebay sites that sell the 2005 spoiler painted and was wondering if I take off the spoiler thats on the 2006, can the 2005 fit directly on? I tried searching and couldn't find any answers on this forum or even google. If I can easily switch out the spoilers I'll definitely buy the 2006.

Thanks

Honestly, I would just buy the 06 and then see if you can swap out a trunk with someone. The 06-07 models already have the projector headlights and the better USDM tails that everyone loves, so you're already ahead of the game on that.

Besides, who knows, once the mod bug bites you, you may go wingless. I had the 03-05 wing on mine and while I still loved it, I went wingless anyway.

thanks for the quick reply. Yeah thats what I was thinking too, its worth the features. I'm guessing its not too hard to swap the spoilers. I personally don't the like the look of wingless g35's, but thats me.

Finding someone to swap trunks with if you buy spoilerless will be very easy, plus you can get some cash along with the trade.

^^ This is true as well. Wingless trunks are in high demand. Ask Tragedycat. He's been looking for like 10 years!

So are the tail lights easy to swap out too? Wouldn't want to lose those with the swap haha. I found a nice black one with all the packages except the navi (so sport, premium and the package with the spoiler) with 44k miles. Are the 06+ spoilers in demand where finding a swap would be easy too or better being a wingless one? And while I have this thread, was asking if 44k miles is pretty good for an 06? Any big maintenance around that point? I get my mechanic friend to check my cars and does a great job.

Probably be better off finding a wingless one. Most people don't generally prefer the 03-05 whale tail. If those that do want wings, some prefer the 06-07 wing instead.

And what do you mean by swap out tails? You wouldn't have to swap tails out at all when you swap trunks. Four little pain in the neck star screws to get out, plus the trunk lining, and disconnect the wire harness and you're done!

One more question I have. If i get the 06 g35 that's wingless, I know the wing was one package you could get that also had Underbody Aerodynamic Side Fairings. Are those easy to come by and get too and put on?

My other choice otherwise will be to buy the g35 I found thats 06 with the spoiler, so assuming has the side fairings and hope I can find someone to trade trunks with the bigger wing spoiler that I want.

just get a 6mt and you'll have the sport package, which has the sport bumper and sides.

I went to go look at a black 06 g35 with all the packages, but upon seeing it up close it had tons of scratches and marks all over and some of the tires had rubber shedding off. It looked horrible and passed on it. Theres another one locally I found on autotrader, only 16ish k miles with what looks like the sport and preminum package, but doesn't look like the aero package is on it since no spoiler. Heres a link
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

I see how a lot of people would want that wingless trunk, so are the other parts of the aero package just new skirts and front spoiler? If i can find someone to trade trunks who has the 03-05 spoiler plus cash, I could just buy the other parts of the aero package. Any links where I could go buy? tried googling but not sure what i found on sites was the oem.

I'm looking for an automatic one. Wouldn't mind manual but i determined wouldn't be practical here in san antonio with the traffic where i live.

What part of San Antonio? And if I could do it again, I'd put all the BS excuses aside and get me a 6MT. I regret it every day. So get the manual and save yourself some agony later! Just my $.02
