The weather stripping in my passenger door is starting to come off and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I have tried to re-work the stripping back into place but it will re-work itself back out off place after opening closing the door a few times...Do I need to replace the whole stripping or glue it down or what can I do to fix this?

The weather stripping looks good, it just needs to be glued down. I think dealerships use Contact Cement, I'd probably use Super Glue which I use for everything....

Alright sweet just wanted to make sure that I didn't glue it and find out that it wasn't meant to be glued or something...

Um, no glue on mine. I can pull it out and put it back into place w/o any issues. I guess the 'glue method' works. But I would get a new molding.

 

I don't feel comfortable using super glue. I would just use some extra strength glue made specifically for weather stripping.

 

Give 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive a try, AKA Gorilla Snot. It comes in a tube or aerosol
get the tube, available in most auto parts stores. Once you use it you will understand the alias.

 

Alright cool thanks. I will look for this tomorrow, I feel safer using something made for weather stripping rather than super glue...

 

I used the 3m black weatherstrip adhesive and it came off. I figured wth had some clear rtv silicone laying around. Few dabs and it is still is holding good.
