Oil consumption issues
you could try another dealer and possibly have some luck. Dealers vary greatly from one to the next-some may have way too many warranty repairs on the table and simply cant afford to get another 4grand from Infiniti. Others will see your consuming oil and give u a long block. Next dealer may give you a short block, while another one up the street may have some master tech look at it and replace your piston rings. Some demand records and some may not even care. If you dont have luck with one, keep trying. Its a little like roulette
im actually having the same issue right now, i bought the car with 11k miles on it and right now it has 50K and at about 48.5K it started burn like a mo fo. I took it in and they told me the same thing which i thought was total BS. Be persistent, thats my plan, go to other dealers. Its total bull for them to expect us to keep records of every single oil change, they cost less than half of a tank of gas. Everyone on here is on here for a reason, we take care of our rides, oil changes on time is a damn no brainer. Keep us posted, as soon as i hear back from the dealer ill do the same. Good luck man.
+2 on trying another dealer. I called another dealer which is about 40 min away from where I live, 20 min further then the first dealer. Theyre are actually sister dealers. anyway, the service manager was far more willing to work with me. He looked up the service records for my car and found enough oil changes that were recorded to be able to begin testing. why the first dealer didnt even bother to look up service records when they were demanding them from me is completely beyond my knowledge. Idiots. the service manager set up an appt for me to have an oil change on tuesday to begin the testing. Ive also been in conctact with infiniti north america so theyre involved in the situation. Ill post an update on tuesday to let everyone know what happens. thanks for the help!

Really, what are the odds that any G coupe owner is in complete and total neglect of their oil change intervals?
Not to mention, the original dealer shouldn't play stupid like this is some one-off problem.
Be excited--hopefully you should have a new engine soon!

I understand Infiniti has guidelines to follow and Nissan is totally aware of their issue with poor quality oil rings why should they make it so tough on their customers to get this issue corrected? My dealership asked me why I didn't bring my coupe in for service when I had a window motor replaced under warranty. I told them I go to Nissan where their mechanics are better trained and they've been taking care of my cars since '92 without over charging me....Infiniti had no answer to that.
