Engine oil Brand

I changed the engine oil on my Z with Castrol 0w30. I like how the engine runs smooth now but i hear some kind of small ticking sound like a metal rotating sound. Is this normal with Castrol engine oil?
On a G, the engine oil was changed with castrol 0w30 and it makes louder ticking sound (the ticking sound was there before the change)
So i have a feeling that It's normal for Castrol engine to make ticking sound.
So that was my first question.
Second question is, which brands do you prefer? Amsoil, Penzoil Platinum, Castrol 0w30 german, mobile 0w40, or Redline. Many people prefers Penzoil platinum but Penzoil doesn't seem like a better company than amsoil or castrol.
Third Question, Is Mobile 5w40 real synthetic? There has been a discussion that Mobile 5w30 is NOT.

German Castrol man! That's ALL I use in my G.

That stuff is frickin great!

I did a ton of research a few years ago before deciding upon German Castrol for my car.... based on other peoples used oil analysis results. Mobil 1 5W40 is not a real synthetic.

I know, Castrol makes my engine run really smooth but the ONLY bad thing is I hear ticking/clunking sound. I don't know if this could cause a problem in the future.
I meant to say mobile one 0w40.

How many miles do you have on your car?

Do you hear the ticking all the time, or just at idle? It could just be your injectors... injectors tick when they fire, but you usually only hear it with the hood open at idle.

it has about 40000 miles. I hear it only when it's idling. I don't know if it makes the sound when cruising because i can't hear with my OEM exhaust.
Do injectors constantly fire because it sounds like something rotating which makes the constant noise.
I didn't hear the injector firing sound before the oil change though..

The injectors are constantly firing when the car is running. They fire faster the faster the engine spins.

Do you think that if you took a video of the car while it's making the noise, you would be able to pick up on the ticking noise while listening to the video?

If so... you should make a vid and post it on youtube... then put a link to it here. That would really help us be able to give you some feedback as to whether the noise you speak of is normal or abnormal.

My fuel injectors are noisy too but I don't see how changing oil would make them louder. I thought this thread contained some good info regarding oil:

Try to listen really carefully, it sounds kind of normal but not. The ticking sound is louder than it is in the vid. In the vids, you can probably hear more like clunking sound.

Whoisthis, that doesn't sound great. You're using 0W/30, it's possible that's too thin. Next oil change switch to 5W/30 and see if that noise persists. I've been using 10W/30 AMSOIL with K&N filters, you can't tell when my engine is running. I often have to look at my tach to tell if it's running....
