So i was going to get some 17 inch rims for winter but the price and tires where out off my price range. Also i need new tires for my oem 19 as well. So i went and bought a 1999 Hyundai accent for $500. I hate driving it but it saves my G from winter driving. Now my G can hibernate in the garage till it becomes warm again. Last week it snowed here and my G hates it not to mention scary.

Unfortunately yes and summer tires are not fun on iced roads. Also Cali does not salt the roads they use cinders which have F*^$ up my paint bad to were color chip wont work. I have to repaint it which is not cheap, but the touge driving is awesome.

You hate driving it?

Beaters rule!... at least if they're reliable. I love driving them around as a change of pace because you can just slam them into any old shady parking lot without worrying about anyone hitting it or vandalizing it, and it's nice to be inconspicuous sometimes and just blend in and not have to worry about people trying to race you or drive aggressive around you to show you that their car is faster than yours.

hahaha so true. My last car was a Camry that obviously never got any attention whatsoever. Now, driving a G, every ricer out there in this city pulls up alongside me and if I so much as accelerate 1 mph, they floor it lol

Don't know how you guys do this. Me and the G are in-separable. Snow + 17's on G = FUN!

Beaters are nice to have. I've got a 99 grand am that I rarely use, 190K miles and beat to ****. Hit a deer in 2007 and used the insurance money on better things.

I bought my first beater this year, and relegated my G to weekend/night out duty.

'99 saturn sl2 with 125k miles. As others have mentioned, I enjoy being able to park it anywhere and not worrying if it gets f'ed up. I love that I don't even have to wash it! Plus I love doing road trips and getting 35 mpg.

My poor G got driven quite a bit through salt and snow last year, and every mile caused me pain. It's getting a warm home in garage this year!
