Beeping sound from dash

Hi all, I'm a new G35 owner, got a new 6mt coupe about a month ago. I have a question, maybe some of you have experience the same thing. Was driving last weekend in bad weather, raining pretty hard, had the headlights set on auto (not sure if that matters), and heard a beeping sound coming from the dash. Almost certainly coming from some speaker, sounded like an audible warning. Didn't see any warning lights illuminated on the dash, no doors open or anything. Occured mabye every 30 secs or so, noticed it when I was driving and after stopping (car was still on). Sound stopped after I turned car off, and I havent' heard it since. Any ideas regarding what that sound was? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the welcome. I gave the dealer a call, they didn't know what it was. If it happens again, I'll take it in. I'm hoping to spend very little time at the dealership. Last car was an S4, had it in the shop all the time, I'm hoping the G holds up a little better than the S did.

I've heard it too....on rare occasions when I start the car up and move a short distance. At first I thought it was my Escort radar detector, but it's beeper is turned up all the way loud. This beep was very quiet and coming from the dash area. Now, I've heard it even when the escort is in the glove box not being used. It only happens within a couple of minutes of engine startup and only very rarely. I'll post a response if my dealer says what it is.

Re: Beeping sound from dash

Thanks. I believe the owner's manual states that the beep for low tire pressure lasts for 10 seconds (implying that it's a steady 10-second beep, not a number of intermittent beeps over a period of 10 seconds). What I heard was a number of short beeps coming from the dash over a period of a couple of minutes. Plus I didn't see the tire pressure warning light. So it doesn't seem to be the beep associated with tire pressure, although I may be wrong of course.

Re: Beeping sound from dash

you sure your tire pressure light didn't come on?

the noise that the tire pressure monitor makes is similar to what you described, and if the weather is cold enough, the pressure may drop enough.

Just in case, I'd suggest checking your pressure to make sure it's in spec. Doesn't hurt.

Thanks, I'll look for the tire pressure light if I hear the sound again. I can't imagine why my tire pressure would be low, I only have 900 miles on my car. But, the weather was pretty bad for SF, not below freezing but relatively cold and rainy, so maybe that caused my tire pressure to drop.

I have an Infiniti G35 that does the same thing. I've owned it 3 years now and live in Ohio. I have noticed it don't happen in the summer at all. My thoughts? I think it happens when the engine is cold and you begin to drive without letting the vehicle warm up. Maybe a sludgish type oil moving through your engine? Just a humble girls opinion. (By boyfriend thinks I'm wrong.)
