only cons is installation... i have had quotes of installing a viper alarm system for ex. and they said the installation is a b!tch and they wanted around $500 just for installation... also is your car M/T or A/T?? you dont want to "accidentally" start the car when its in gear :S but i think it will be a nice feature to have

Yeah I can't really think of any cons either besides installation cost, I paid around $300 for my install. I use the remote start on my Viper 5902 all the time. You'll need an additional module if you have the intellikey. And I think most systems come with a feature for MT's so that it won't start if it's in gear.

I have the viper 5901 with remote start and a MT. Once the alarm is installed the car will not start if it is in gear because there is Neutral Safety Switch built into the car. The remote will know if you are in gear or not in gear and will fail if in gear. But the installation is a bitch.

For the 5901.. i got it installed on a MT too... do u got to preprogram it.. as in before u get out the car u got to hit the middle button and the car stays on when u get out and then turns off when u lock the car>???

That is a completely different function. That function was mainly for Turbo timers to give the engine a chance to cool down. There is no preprogramming with my setup and can remote start, turn on the car without pressing anything before hand.

Did you install the module & alarm, or just the alarm, the turbo timer function on my alarm is not turned on because I don't have a turbo. I didn't do the install, had a friend do it for me. But I havnt heard of preprogramming pressing the button then turning off your car, it could be the module that was used to bypass the chip.

Normally just because they are certified doesn't mean they are the best, not hating or anything just saying, talk to some other installers and ask their opinions first and get more info.
