Problems Getting Up Carport
Problems Getting Up Carport
Okay so here's the deal: My car is lowered on Eibach Pro Kits and I have the stock 17" rims. I'm moving into a new house and my car can't make it up the initial hump for the carport. The car makes it up fine until I get to the rear end and the exhaust (I'm assuming) starts to scrape real bad. I want to avoid having to replace the springs and shocks back to stock or something higher, but I may have to.
My question is this: First of all I haven't tried backing up into it yet because I'm afraid of damaging the car. Would it generally have less clearing issues backing into the carport? Also, I was planning on buying new rims in the near future anyways, so if I got rid of my stock 17s and got 20s would that add a lot of height to the vehicle or does that not change much?

How much higher off the ground would new wheels make the car?
Also, I think the wood thing is a great idea but I'd like to avoid having to drag a piece of wood in and out of the garage everytime I want to get into my house.

I would pour concrete in the driveway approach. Pour the concrete over a schedule 80 pvc pipe to maintain drainage if necessary.
