Starting issue heeeeeelp

So I parked my G for the winter, I went to start it to move it back and forth yesterday, I pushed in the clutch and turned the key. The sound that came out of the engine was like that of the sound you would here trying to start a car that's already running? Yet this was the initial start. I've just had a ACT clutch, and stillen fly wheel installed, the car never made this noise previous to the install of the clutch/flywheel?

Any ideas on this topic?
I'm thinking the install was done incorrectly!?

Might be the starter. It will happen if its cold and you have not start car in a while.

If it's not the battery, you might need a new starter.

Starter gear may not be fully engaging the flywheel or it might be loose and could be damaging the starter pinion gear. it's possible that the starter wasn't properly installed when the clutch and flywheel were replaced.

this is true...i overlooked the part of having a new clutch kit put in. def check and make sure the starter is installed correctly. if its not, hope it didnt do much damage to the ring gear :/

Same problem happened to me today. Tried starting the car today but it wouldn't crank. After many tries (over 10) the car finally started. When it finally started, I heard a loud popping noise coming from the rear of my car, sounding like metal popping. I'm pretty sure it's not the battery, because it finally started after attempted tries..

It's not the battery, it's a terrible grinding noise it turns over every
time it just doesn't catch, it's gotta
be when they did the work on my clutch for sure it never did this until that work was done. Thanks or your help guys appreciate it, what kind of damage would this do it's happened about 10 times

Depends on lot's of things. Chances are it may not have been too badly damaged. Even so, the pinion gear could probably be replaced without having to shell out bucks for an entire starter. You can pretty easily remove the starter and see for yourself, and while your at it determine why it may not be fully seated.

...time to get to work. it's not gonna fox itself
