What engine part is this? VDC light and Slip light now on.
So today I waas pulling into the driveway and when I turned off the car I hear like a vacuum sound coming from under the hood. I could feel a slight vibration in the clutch as well. I turned the car back on and then back off a few times aned could still hear it. I looked and it was def coming from this box and the lines running to it.
I waited for a while and finally pulled the battery line and it turned off. I waited for a few minutes and when I put the battery line back on, it was no longer hissing but when I sat down the VDC light and slip light were on and stayed on. I DO NOT have a check engine light just those two. So what is this box and any ideas on what I do now??

That box is the VDC actuator. If not low on brake fluid, either it or one of the related sensors may be malfunctioning. If the the battery reset didn't clear it, and it recurs, I suggest having someone check it out. May be no dash lights but there's likely codes that have been registered by the ECU to tell you what's going on. A lot of auto part stores will read the codes for free.

VDC Relay
I just had this exact problem occur on my 06 AT and believe me it would not have been cheap had I not had extended warranty. In my case it was the VDC relay and retailed at $780+2.5 hrs install (CAD funds). My understanding is that there are a number of related sensors and relays that can cause similar scenarios, however it sounds like what I went through. Once a technition runs a diognostic on it you'll know for sure, but brace yourself for the worst if you don't have extended coverage.
Good Luck!!
