i got pulled over in edgewater nj tonight. why? for my stock exhaust! well sort of [img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img]
cop tells me i revved my engine when i was passing him, but it was really my friend in a cadillac CTS-V. crazy 400hp.
i told him i was driving manual so i might have to rev a bit.
he was looking at me with a dumbfounded stare.
i tap the pedal and rev it to 1500 rpm and he tells me that it was me.
he checks my paperwork, says its all checked out and let me go.
as he walks away, he tells me to take care of my aftermarket exhaust. i told him it was stock...so instead he tells me to learn how to drive stick! haha. that was a first i ever heard that happen.

Ummm officer, I drive manual, I wanted to slow down, I downshifted. Now mind your own. I downshift into 5th and accelerate around people on route 18 past state troopers (because everyone in Jersey is AFRAID to go the speed limit past cops) and they havent given me a problem yet. He was prolly just out to harrass someone.

Getting ticketed for stock spoiler, challenged in court and got denied by the judge.

Btw never try to mess with a cop, you will only get yourself into more trouble. Better than being an idoit can't drive stick than get a ticket.

same thing happend to me before...

i was just driving around, passed a pig on the side of the road... 30 sec later, he pulls me over... reason, loud exhaust... i had to force myself not to laugh out loud... told the cop its stock exhaust, he told me "i dont buy it, rev it for me" so i did, reved it all the way to 6000 rpm... he was like "OK, thats not stock" i told him to go check it, he tells me, "no i dont want to check it, is it stock?" told him it is... tells me "if its stock, drive slower"

slower? i was in 2nd gear, around 3500 rpm range...

 

Why don't they go after the Harleys that put out over 100dB while driving through town. They are friggin' loud.

Also, those fart cans on Civics are much more annoying and louder than ours.

yea, my friend has a prelude with a pretty loud exhaust on it but we split up at a light. i went up the hill and he went straight. if he was behind me and my other friend, he would've gotten pulled over. i dunno, there have been a lot more cops in edgewater new jersey lately. they all seem to act like pr!cks from what i've been seeing
