Question Transmission Question Help please

Hi everyone I know I will be getting a lot of people saying oh this car isn't made for this/that blah blah... So if you're going to comment on that please don't I just want some advice from people who actually drag/track their cars. And before I ask my question my car is stock except a filer and stillen ztube. Future plans are spacer, KCR exhaust, TP, MREV2, Tune. I'm thinking about wanting to push about 300WHP if possible from some mods without doing FI. So here is my question

1. What Clutch/flywheel would you recommend because with the stock the clutch is too sticky most 6MT ppl know what I'm talking about( when launching the clutch pedal gets stuck half way up and burns the clutch. But my car is my Daily Driver so I would like a clutch that is DD friendly.

2. With the mods I have posted what else would you recommend for me to do to push about 300 with a Osiris or Church Automotive tune one of those 2 they are the closest to where I live. Headers? Pulley? anything that would get me to 300 mark I have not had a stock pull done so I don't really know how much I'm pushing can you guys post stock pulls with the revup engines please.

Thank you all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Lets begin with the clutch, there's no better clutch/flywheel combination than ACT. The best HP increase can be found by using MotorDynes MREV2 and 5/16" spacer along with HFCs. Pulleys....NO! Headers.... if you need that extra 3 to 5 HP to reach your goal and have the extra $$ go for it. Osiris along with a knowledgeable tune shop would work for the final tune after all the above are installed.

i dont think your going to be able to hit 300whp with bolt ons. Your going to need cams and high compression pistons to hit 300whp without FI.

As I recall the '07 Revup motor is within 25 HP of hitting 300 from the factory so the above mods I posted will get him damn close if not over....

stock g35 dynos around 240-250whp

With intake he only gained 7whp. I really doubt he'll get 50whp from the mods he listed without FI.

When you replace the clutch add stainless steel lines and don't replace the fluid with DOT3, go with DOT4. Heat is one of the biggest causes of the sticky clutch pedal so go with lines that won't stretch and fluid that won't boil as quickly.

Get a baseline dyno done, see where you're at. That'll help you figure out how much work you're going to have to put in. We can only guess from previous threads where you'll end up but I'm with Tem, I don't think you'll hit 300 with a few bolt-ons unfortunately.

Also consider changing the final drive. Are you looking for drag strip performance or autocross/HPDE track days? What kind of racing are you setting up for?

Edit: And don't overlook your wheels either, a lightweight set of track wheels to reduce unsprung weight may help you out some too. If you've got the factory 19s you're OK here, if not look into getting a set or some lightweight Enkei or Weds or something.

+1 for the dot 4 and stainless lines. for the clutch i found i wore out the 6 pucks kinda quickly and if your only going for 300 they arent needed. get the strongest pressure plate with a good street friction plate it will last longer that way.
