just make sure you are in the correct gear for your speed and you'll be fine.

In general I try to keep the revs near 3k when downshifting into a lower gear. I don't tend to downshift to 1 until I am stopped. 2nd is for when you are moving, and try not to drop into the gear when it will result in a redline. Dropping into a gear lower than you should 'should not' result in serious damage. There are rev limiters, etc to help prevent problems of blowing your engine. If the revs start to get above 5k on a downshift I'd suggest pushing in the clutch and choosing a higher gear. Glad you're enjoying your G. Post some pics!

I say go with a volcano. It will get you super high, not to mention it's a different kind of high. The high seems much cleaner. I don't know if volcano makes portable ones though.

Looks clean and seems like a great price to me. I got nearly that much for my 05 auto last summer with 61k miles, 18" non-sport wheels (but it did have an extended warranty). Now grab some coilovers and slam her

I was in the the same situation as the OP, didnt know whether to buy an MT or AT...i still havent bought one because I dont want the first season I use my G in to be winter what with all the snow (especially since NYC just got hit with a blizzard). What convinced me to go with a 6MT was learning to drive my friends MT Accord and Z...its so much funner and an overall better driving experience to drive an MT and they reassured me that driving stick in traffic is not bad at all (which was my only gripe about MT's)

so Ill wait till after winter or probably late Jan or early Feb to buy a DG or BS 06 6MT. Good luck on your decision!!

PS...Remember (and correct me if im wrong) also that the 6MT comes with more options or is considered the premium G when it comes to packaging (for example 05-07 6MT's come with 19' Rays, LSD, Memory seats, aero package, more HP *18 i think* etc...) Just food for thought and something you should definitely keep in mind.

My 06 auto has all of those options, with the exception of the added HP. (sport / premium package)

Manuals are defiitely more fun, just try to take an easy on the clutch until your used to it and you'll be fine

The 6MT does not automatically come with premium options. It is a seperate package that can be added to the 6MT. My 06 6MT coupe doesn't have memory seats, nav, homelink, blue tooth, bose, power telescoping steering wheel.

Once you learn how to drive manual, you will never go back.
I've had both my ankles replaced (surgery), can't remember the last time/day my feet didn't hurt, still drive manual today, and was even driving manual a week after one of my surgeries (3 months of no walking too).
The ability to drive manual, is like an elite group. You have to learn to drive manual, a retarded monkey can drive auto.
You get more props for driving 6MT.
It also limits (somewhat minimally) who can steal your car.
I've been driving manual since I was 15, and have only owned one AT in the past 14 years, which didn't last very long.

True sportscars have manual transmissions. Get the 6MT definitely. Learning to drive it is easy...
