HELP passenger window broken?

I was installing my headlamp assembly with a few modifications and also HIDs in the fog/high beam (6000k philips utlion, sp) and after i finished i rolled down the windows with my key remote , and then after like 2 hrs i came back and wanted to roll them up, and the drivers side was fine but the passenger side won't work (its stuck at the position its in now, which is all the way down, and its the winter so i cant really be driving with a window down like that unless i want to freeze my *** off). any clue as to why? also does anyone know where the fuse is for the passenger window, i'll see if it blew... hopefully thats it, but if not i guess i'll have to get it fixed at the dealership, it better be under warranty.. Thanks.

Re: HELP passenger window broken?

Welcome to the club. Most of us have had at least one window motor replaced. No big deal, bring it to the dealer and it will be replaced under warranty.

The same reason that the sun rises. It is a know problem. Many of us have had the window motors replaced. Bring it to the dealer and they will fix it.

Hmm... ok I'll bring it to the dealer monday but do you think they'd give me problems because i got my front windows tinted? Could the possibly blame it on that?

Re: HELP passenger window broken?

could it be an electrical problem? i'm sure that if you bring it to the dealer and tell them you made some mods to the headlamps, they will use that against you. though tedious, i would try going back and taking the mods out temporarily to see if the window will work again. the reason why i recommend this is because when i got my windows tinted, the installer took out one screw from the front passenger seat and forgot to put it back in. when i got home, the seat wouldn't move forward or backwards. i called and he remembered about the screw. he had left it in the car so i just screwed it in myself and the seat worked normally again. of course, it could just be a faulty window motor which has happened to coupe owners in the past.

Re: HELP passenger window broken?

i'm going to check all the fuses to see if any of them are fried, and taking out the mods and headlights/corners is impossible b/c i am not going through that process ever again, lol it took so long and even tho i know exactly how to do everything now (1st time's always the hardest) i'm going to just get the window motor replaced, thanks for the help though. i'm assuming the reason its broken is b/c of the window tinting, since i didn't open the passenger window or door since i got it re-tinted 3 days ago, it seems logical enough... we'll see, thanks again.

Re: HELP passenger window broken?

hmm strange thing just happened... i pulled all the fuses out, and they were all fine. i didnt think it'd b a problem with the fuse but just to make sure i checked. then i started opening the door panels and first i disconnected the harness to the passenger side lock/window switches... i continued trying to open the door and i got like halfway done and then i didnt know how to pry it open next, so i stopped, and put everything back together, and still the switch wasn't working. so i closed the door and the window rolled up! and so naturally i checked to see if it'd roll down but the switch still doesnt work. and the switch from my drivers door doesnt open the passenger window either. so no clue whats wrong now, but at least the window is rolled up so i can actually drive it out of my garage. i'll see what the dealer can do about this... hopefully whatever they do it'll be under warranty.
