Skyline Wanna Be. . .
Driving to work this morning on 210 freeway LA. A fixed up white Maxima pulled infront of me. Just when I was wondering why he cut infront of me while there're so many other gaps between other cars. . . . . there it is. . . gone are the Maxima badge, replaced with a SKYLINE. So I was thinking, "you dare fake to be a SKYLINE and show your face in front of a REAL one?"

We'll it's kinda like my neighbor who has a honda accord dx sedan...but re-badged it with "ACURA" logos everywhere and the car is all "fobbed up"...I'm chinese so I know...huge ACURA sticers on the windows...crazy mudflaps...bumper edge guards on all four corners of the bumpers...powered by ACURA...ughhhh....It's an ACCORD DX for crying out loud...
And I've also seen this fool in San Jose with an older Acura Legend..the 2nd Generation...with SKYLINE tailights...
I tell ya these people "FRONT" so much...I'm just glad that our cars are an actual SKYLINE...!!!

The whole badge changing thing here is just weird to me. Even with our cars, if I were to see a G35 Coupe rebadged to Skyline 350GT I think I would just be weirded out. I know our cars really are a Nissan Skyline 350GT and I'm not really into that whole name brand loyalty crap blah blah blah. But here in the US, the car is sold as Infiniti G35 Coupe, and I think it would just confuse everyone to drive around with NIssan Skyline 350GT on the back of the car.

I'll actually have a practical application.
The good 'ole boys around here that we have for clients won't know "Skyline", but they will know "Infiniti" and "Nissan". Given the two, they'll naturally assume a Nissan can't be as expensive of a car as an Infiniti would be, even though it looks nice. I know, they'll see the inside if they get close, but these people tend to form opinions not always based in fact, and you can't ask them to educate themselves before they form their opinion. lol They'll see it from a distance and form their opinion. Perhaps I can help shape that opinion through a little rebadging.
So the Nissan badges will be a strategy for me. At that point, it's just as ridiculous NOT to add the Skyline 350GT badges on the trunk. FWIW, I wouldn't rebadge if the G wasn't available as a Nissan elsewhere in the world.
'05 IP(or ?) 6MT... ...Never too soon to think about modifications!!

Since we are on the topic of badges....need opinions here....would it look bad to remove the "Infiniti" emblem and replace it with the SKYLINE but leave the G35 on the corner. Just trying to make it unique but not riced out...let me know what you guys think.

Lol, just because VW's and Porsche's are produced in the same factories doesn't mean VW owners hvae the right to start putting Porsche badges on their cars.
Obviously our cars are Infiniti's in the US because the US is very name-brand-conscious. Personally, I really don't care much either way. The car is sold here as Infiniti G35 and I don't care enough to do anything about it.....
