After-market Interior Trim Kits?

?? Does anyone have recommendations / experience with after-market interior trim kits, self-installation, etc. ??

Been web-browsing the full interior kits from Exotic Dash, Burtman Industries (real wood) and Sherwood Dash (real wood, simulateds & carbon).

Anyone buy / install one of these, or another? Got pics and comments? It's impossible to judge the quality without seeing any of these in person. The real wood sure does look beautiful...so does the carbon fiber.

Would really appreciate all suggestions as this aluminum finish on our stock console is poor...but the car is great.

I'd go with Burtman Industries. They have several different types of real wood as well as real carbon fiber and synthetic carbon fiber.

Re: After-market Interior Trim Kits?

I was seriously considering a wood kit for my 04 Coupe before I purchased it and even after one year of ownership. I have done a ton of research as well as actually ordering a kit from exoticwoodash (It came damaged and I returned it... they charged me a restocking fee and didn't pay for the return shipping) It took 4 weeks to get the kit and it was damaged. I have seen many installations for aftermarket kits and all of them look aftermarket. The edges will over time start peeling and if you are very particular, you will not like the fit and finish. Some areas have overhang and others are short. Remember that no matter how good the company claims it is, it is still an aftermarket addition that will never be quite right. In addition, the elements play havoc on the adhesion of the product(heat and cold), especially on the edges or any areas that are not totally flat. All I can say is go look at as many installations as possible. I have gone for a viewing at a few Infiniti dealerships and their installs were barely acceptable. Please understand, I am quite particular. Go see for yourself before you get it installed. It is not something that can be removed if you don't like it. It will damage the underlying plastic. I have always been a believer of factory or nothing! Good luck with any decision you make.

Re: After-market Interior Trim Kits?

If you don't want a stick on solution (which doesn't look quite right), the only choice is Elegant Wood Design (aka Suite E Grafx). Unlike other aftermarket products, they aren't a stick on product. Rather you send in your pieces and they go through a painting process that paints the wood or carbon (fake obviously) onto your oem pieces. The pics look good. Although the process costs more than the stick on type. I don't know if anyone in a G35 have done this yet.
