Will ride be rougher, same, louder with like tires? Do they wear faster? Does mpg take a big hit? Thanks

1. The ride will be a bit rougher...and you will notice the bumps in the road as you will have less sidewall...

2. not the same ride, as you will sit higher off the ground now.

3. With simular tires, it depends on what tires. On the oem 19s, your inner tire wear will show up a little faster and the sound of cupping tires will annoy you until you get a camber and toe kit.

4. The OEM 19s are lightweight and forged aluminum wheels. The difference will be minimal on acceleration and mpgs....

Thanks for the response, may just hold out for some 18 oems, i assume all the stated problems would be less pronounced.

19's will have a noticeably rougher ride, but not objectionable. They will look better than the 17's though. I think the 18's are your best bet if you want a bigger wheel but still want some ride comfort.

I run oe 17's winter, and oe 19's in the summer. I honestly don't notice the difference.

The ride difference between my summer wheels (19's) and my winter (18's) is very minimal and I contribute most all of that to the softer compound of the winter tires.
The slightly larger sidewall of the 18's does asorbe some of the bumps, but not enough to keep me from my 19's.
If the only reason that you are going with 18's over 19's is for ride quality...you will be dissapointed. If you ever try on a set of 19's you wont notice much of a difference when it comes to smoothness and noise.

Agreed. I run OEM 18s in the winter and OEM 19s in the summer. To me, they're both equally harsh. The only thing I've noticed is more road noise from my 19s, but that's probably due to low tread.

Your car will look A LOT better...i dont think nothing changes mpg wise. Just the camber. i would never get any other rim size.
