I routed mine through the side of the DD unit and out through the glovebox where it sits.
I have the pioneer z2 fyi.
(this is for my ipod nano 2nd gen) I don't have the iphone so .. not sure. I know other people have a base mount where they tack it where the driver side right air vent is- somewhere around there. I think I've seen mounts like those at Best Buy.

Is it a b***h to get it into the glovebox? I've got my ipod, and my phone.. so I was thinking the glovebox was fine cause I wouldn't need to ever really use it, right?

Glovebox. I only need to remove it if I go to the gym or am downloading new music on it, something you would have to do regardless of where you stash it. Your head unit should have the option to charge the ipod as well so you never need to touch it really.

I put one in the center console sliding door opening and open in the slot next on passenger side next to push lighter, just drilled holes and push cord through

Thanks guys. I'll more then likely go with the glovebox, that way its hidden... which one is easier to wire to, the lower glove box? or the owners manual box?

It's very easy for it to fit the wire/etc through the DD/center console into the glovebox. You'll be fine.

I also went with the glovebox, too easy to get the cable there, didn't have to cut/mod anything it just routes right through and keeps it out of the way. It would be easy enough to get the ipod out of the glovebox if needed, but I just keep an old 80bg video there fulltime so haven't had to do the whole grab and go thing guys with an iphone might. Only reason I left the cable accessible at all is in case someone wants to listen their music or watch their videos.
