Thanks for this info, my 03 at 92,000 just had VDC, SES and Slip lights go on today. G is at the dealer and I have some info that may help confirm what the problem may be. G35driver FTW.

When I turn on my G35 coupe I sometimes get vdc off slip and engine light on. The car won't go over 3 miles and hour. I turn it off and back one then the lights go out and it runs like normal. Is the cam sensor covered under warrenty?

how much does the dealership charge to replace both camshaft sensors????

Also is there a way to know which camshaft has gone bad???
I got the code p0340..

EDIT:
I replaced both camshaft sensors. Brought the parts from G35parts.com, for the fraction of the dealerships price. Cost me around 140$ for both sensors. Installed both sensors myself with the help of the DIY on this forum.

Car runs great with all the lights off, and the CEL off too!!! Had to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. Got around 50miles so far, with no problems what so ever. Knock on wood********

This just happened to me... My G shut right the eff off at a red light. Now it's a douche to start, and my Service Engine Soon, VDC Off, and SLIP lights are all on. I took it straight to the closest auot parts store and had them get the error codes for me.

Error Code: P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1

I'll be using one of the two DIYs below to take care of this...

my car, 05 new used motor with 40k miles a year ago, chassis has 86k miles....the other night i was driving a little hard on the highway with my music all the way up and AC on.... when the check engine , and slip light came on.....i pulled over shut off the car, plugged up my access port and the code p0340 was pulled, i cleared the code and the car wouldnt start. i waited like 30 minutes, i was about to call a tow truck but i decided to try to turn it back on again and it came back on..... my ques is, could it be the my music is too loud, that my bass is somehow either rattling the car to much that its making the code go off or like one person posted, maybe my volts drop so much that it caused something to trip?...

audio set up is, 12inch BTL sub, big 3 upgrade, kinetic battery up front, xs power battery in the trunk, 2 oxygen audio amps for voice, other for tweeters, 6 voice speakers and a pair of tweeters and for bass a audioque 2200d amp.....when i have the volume at 52 my right headlight starts to strobe sometimes when the bass hits...hope someone can help, because I'm considering on parting out and getting another car.......i was waiting next year to install a 170amp alternator, can't really afford one right now with child support payments kicking my *** every week......thanks boys hope u can help...

I too had the same problem.Yesterday I ran out of gas while driving home from work, and thats when my Slip VDC off, and SEC light came on. After I got saved by a tow truck, and put gas in my car, my dash STILL lit up like a christmas tree! I went to a auto part store this morning and he pulled the code p0340 for free. Now I had already had a similer problem like this before couple years ago and had it my cam sensors replaced. He cleared the code for me, however when I tried to start my car it had a hard time kicking over but it started and drove fine, and my SES light never came back on. Can my cam sensors go bad after 2 years of being replaced or did running out of gas trip something? Thanks guys.

i am having the exact same problem as the OP. so far i have spend $500 replacing the sensors (2 cam, 1 crank) but i still have the hard start problem. I was told it had something to do with a camshaft spraket and the proper degrees at which some stuff should be assigned. The proper degrees according to the mechanic are 2 for left camshaft and 2 for right. Mine are currently 2 and 63 degrees. Quote to fix = $1,500. Maybe covered under extended warranty maybe not - mechanic is checking now.

Quote from gardena infiniti = 675 for all three sensors, btw
