Driver has ****ty reaction time imo... and our cars are fat v.v and it might have more torque then the vq... i honestly dont know. i might also take in consideration of the fwd... with the extra weight of the motor over the tires.... better traction perhaps.

Looks like the G Driver was new and the Accord driver was not.

Experienced vs unexperienced.

Its easy to screw up the launch when you are new, and at his 2 sec RT he most likely left when the green light lit and didnot brake torque(cant hear the video now)

that race had to do with the driver. the trap for the g35 was 97 mph while the accord was 95. the g35 is a faster car but the driver wasnt as good.

Definitely a reaction time issue. The g driver must have been in the middle of texting someone.

The simple answer is it's not just about the car, the driver plays a role as well.

Look at the numbers and it's easy to see how this happened.

People think the G is supposed to be some supercar or something because it LOOKS sporty.

In truth, it's a lard-a$$ed car with average power by today's standards..

My G (an 05) has 280/280. An 2011 Accord is 274/254 (and gets 20/30 MPG). Accord responds reasonably well to mods. The G is a turd for bolt-ons. If the Accord gets the jump, see ya..

+1 on experience being the issue.

was actually looking up dynos for random cars and found this. I know dynos are different and you can't compare one to another heck even same one on a diff day is not comparable but apparently the 8th gen accords are fast (6mt anyway. 5AT are like our cars terrible drivetrain loss). guy put down 280 whp and runs 13.5s trapping 105. Some people have said the track is fast but hell 13.5 will beat most bolton G35s.

http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...no-282whp.html

8th gen honda accords numbers (6mt) stock that I've seen posted are about
0-60 5.5 to 6.0 seconds
1/4 mile in 14 sec-14.5 sec trapping around 98-100

if these numbers are right they are about as fast as a G35.

I know the vid has a 7th gen accord about ~30hp less than the 8th gen but accords are not slow by any means.

In the video it said reaction time -0.39 for the accord.

I say the accord jumped and red lighted

you can even see it on the tree for the accord side
red light on the bottom of the tree

Remember FWD = less drivetrain loss + less weight

When numbers are almost identical drivetrain loss + less weight will always win

Oh God....don't get me started. I mean, if FWDs were so great, we'd be driving Minis and Audi non-quattros.

Accord, Acura TSX....Altima Coupes, Maximas..........same damn difference.

Give any of the above just under 300 HP @ around 3400-3500 curb weight, a straight line (like ALLLLL of our roads), and experienced drag racer?

I'll take 'em over the cherry-G35 drag racer lacking familiarity with what he/she drives.....possibly all day long.

Until we hit the track. A real track with twisties, not a drag STRIP.

Where the front-driver will ultimately spin out and/or flip - trust me, I've done these things...........enroute getting their butts kicked by our dressed up, gussied up, 350Zs.

As they do almost daily when I encounter them on S. Florida roads. Eat my dust and suck up my fumes, you chumps.

Hell, a frickin Honda S2000 can't even deal with us. And this is just after the same Accords & TSXs get smashed by their little-bitty S2000 relatives.

Now, off to the Honda dealership with EnerOnE to get rid of my crappy G.
