Question For Owners of Bat's Taillight Overlays

3 questions for those who have Bat's taillight overlays -

1) Did you go with the GTR style (no cutout for reverse lens), or did you get the ones with the reverse lens cut out?

2) Did you get the full smoked or the lighter 3/10 tint?

3) Was your decision based on looks alone, or was there any practical considerations to your choices?

Want to get a set but not sure which style and tint I should choose for a BS coupe.

Thanks for your input,
Prolix

A> I went with the full inlays with no cutouts

2) Did you get the full smoked or the lighter 3/10 tint?
A> I got full 6/10 smoked, I like that look on real light or real dark colored cars
3) Was your decision based on looks alone, or was there any practical considerations to your choices?
A> Nothing practical comes to mind, just for the looks. The LED tailights are plenty bright and still bright after installing the inlays.

Pics are at the Blue Batmobile website at -
http://www.bluebatmobile.com/gallery/album02
This first page has headlight, taillight and sidemarker overlays, the second page has the lighter 3/10 tint taillight overlays.

went with the solid, no cut outs

3/10, the BS on page 2 with the Fl. plate is mine

3) Was your decision based on looks alone, or was there any practical considerations to your choices?
wasn't sure if the 6/10 was going to be too dark. Very happy with the 3/10.
Hope this helps.

Re: Question For Owners of Bat's Taillight Overlays

speedeezx - You said you went with the solid overlay, but the picture of the BS coupe with Florida plates has the cutout for the reverse lens. So you decided to cut them out yourself? Did you try the solid overlay on your car for awhile, or did you do the cutout before you ever put them on your car? What made you change your mind?

Thanks,
Prolix

Actually the reverse lights are covered, I think the tint is so light it's hard to tell.
Sorry for the GIANT pics, still haven't figured out how to resize yet. First is before the overlay ( bad angle to do a comparison but it's all I had ) and the second is after. Subtle but noticable.

Re: Question For Owners of Bat's Taillight Overlays

do they offer anything between 3/10 and the full overlay? it may be just the pics but 3/10 still seems kinda light to me.

Re: Question For Owners of Bat's Taillight Overlays

1. i got the gt-r overlays (cutouts) bat doesnt have the ones with the reverse lights cut out. people do it themselves. (as far as i know).

2. with the gt-r oevrlays i think you would have to go with the darker ones. if they were lighter, the cutouts wouldnt really show up

3. all for looks. they have no pratical purpose. just sets you apart from the other g35s.

4. also i had it done by my tint guy. i know some people complain about bubbles or what not. i have none and im perfectly happy with the job. its a couple of bucks to save some time and possible headaches.

here are some pixs.

Re: Question For Owners of Bat's Taillight Overlays

Yea, it would be nice if they offered something between the full smoked and the 3/10, but they don't. Maybe that's why I'm having a hard time deciding which one to go with, the 3/10 seems kinda light and the full smoked seems pretty dark.
