A problem w/ just the 350GT badging?

I am curious if there is an inconsistency if I just go w/ the 350GT badge to replace the G35, and not rebadge the Infiniti badge and mt. fuji.

Thanks!

If you have some 19s that you want to sell... let me know

Its kind of the same think as rebadging a Mercedes to a Chrysler.

I've done just that. Of course I disagree with Blitzjb. I think it better fits the character of the car. One day while I was washing my car in front of my house, a Vette owner stopped and asked my the difference between the G35 and my 350GT. I could have told him a **** and bull story, but I didn't. Also, Nissan uses red paint in some of the letters in it's special performance applications. Since I've slightly modded my car, I think it fits.

Re: A problem w/ just the 350GT badging?

Hm I don't like it... 350GT is a Skyline model... not an Infiniti Model... Not only that but Infiniti does not have a 350GT model either... so the 350 just kinda sticks out like a sore thumb imho.

But it really depends on what you're comfortable with... in any case re-badging will never match completely... even if you change the infiniti badge to a nissan badge, the INFINITI to SKYLINE, and the G35 to 350GT, and the front INFINTI badge to a nissan badge, you would still have to chnage the leather seat covers that have the Infiniti emblem, the infiniti on the rims, the infiniti on the trunk mat, etc... so... basically... its up to you hahaha...

great conclusion...

With one sentence, you've just accomplished the feat of writing the DUMBEST statement ever posted in a car forum. . .EVER!

The day they'll be selling a $29k version of the E55 AMG, I'll be the first one to buy that "Chrysler".
Obviously, Chrysler and MB are two different manufacturers, whereas the Skyline 350GT and G35 are the same exact car, built by the same single manufacturer, and the same manufacturing plant, same options, same colors, same everything - the only thing that's different are the emblems.
If you ask me, I don't even know why there is Infiniti to begin with. Why do we here in the States need an "upscale" name for Nissan. I personally would have been perfectly fine if the car was to be marketed as a Nissan.

Re: A problem w/ just the 350GT badging?

Once again it all comes down to personal taste.....if you want to put the 350GT on the back, knock yourself out......
if you want an honest opinion for the forum, be prepared to take all the heat that comes along with it....

If I don't like it,.....so what. its your car.....do what you want to do with it and enjoy.....

I don't think I would de-badge my car and re-install other badges....but thats just me....

I actually think it looks best with just the Mt Fuji emblem and nothing else....it gives the rear a wider appearance...but thats just what I think......

Re: A problem w/ just the 350GT badging?

I just saw an Acura Integra today that was badly debadged. Still had the holes and out-line on the paint....And...it also had one of those red Honda badges replacing the Acura badge at the center of the trunk.

I had to wonder WHY??!!! Would you rather drive a Honda rather than an Acura?

At least the JDM Nissan and the G35 are basically the same car, and the Skyline is a status name for enthusiasts (and video game kids).

I think it tells people that you're not just another person who bought a G35 because it's "cool". Instead, it tells the other car enthusiasts that you know something about your car.

Re: A problem w/ just the 350GT badging?

I consider myself a car enthusiast... and actually it strikes me differently. If I see Skyline badges with the steering wheel on the left side and Infiniti seats, I'll probably chuckle, shake my head, and keep driving. Of course, as said a thousand times over, to each their own, and have fun with what's yours.

I guess I feel that specific things make these cars identifiable as G35's and those as Skylines... however small they may be. And rebadging isn't going to change that for people "in the know".
