Bigger Calipers???????

on the g35 without Brembo can you upgrade the calipers to bigger ones or would you have to upgrade the whole system?

I see wilwood has some for $700 that will fit on stock rotors but any other brands out there

Stock non-brembo calipers are 2/1 pot, stock brembos are 4/2 pot. You want something in between that? Or are you talking about some other aftermarket brembos?

I think I've seen people run the Akebono's off the g37 on stock calipers.
I've been curious of this as well.

^ I know what I said above isn't referred to as "smaller than brembos" just saying what else I've seen.

I'm just looking at bigger calipers than stock it dont matter without having to pay $1000 for the whole kit. or use stock rotors with bigger calipers either the brembo or akebono

Typical upgrades are either akebonos or OEM brembos, but they'll both run you over $1k, unless you somehow manage to find some used ones under that. Upgrading the brakes just simply isn't cheap, otherwise you'd see everyone with bigger calipers lol.

Tofu, I too recall reading in the past about being able to run akebono calipers on stock rotors. I'll see if I can dig something up. The problem is finding a set of them for sale.

Yeah the g37s require a special bracket to fit the g35 but looks great when done!

the reason i asked cause Wildwood sales the 9"calipers for $739 and you would just have to get the 350z 320mm rotors

if you have a 03-05 then you have a baby 11.6 rotor on a 1 pot caliper front and back....if you get the 06-08 non brembo they have 12.6 rotors on a 2 pot caliper in front and 1 pot in the back... the 03-05's have a recall on the fronts i think somethings about rotor warping. i found 06 fronts and backs calipers and rotors with new endless pad for 125 bucks. stops on a dime now. Craiglist is your friend
