Muffler is Broken

Ok so I started to hear a noise that sounded like a pop can in my exhaust. I took it to a muffler shop and they said the muffler is broken and it needs to be replaced. I was thinking about just buying a magnaflow muffler and having them put it on for $50. But I don't know if it'll sound good. I don't want to spend over $400.

Could you suggest one of these or another one? I have z1 motorsports test pipes, a z-tube, and a jwt pop charger.
Thanks, Chris

I'm with you bro.. Every cold start i hear this rattle and some weird noise from the rear. I'm leaning to get the Greddy spectrum. but if that remixcustom sound good I will get that.

I like the remixcustom axle back, I would just be worried about the tips turning brown like some of the other types of ebay exhaust

Do you have an oem exhaust? If you do, you can just buy a used axle back for like 40 bucks xD

Muffler shop should be able to reweld yours back together. Mine broke all the way off and was rusted on top of that. Took a little more time to clean up the surfaces but welded back together fine and has been that way for a year now.

I think it might be the y-pipe. Has anyone had problems with theirs? When I downshift (5at) it rattles between 2-3k rpm.

Ok! I'll check that. If not I'm gonna bite the bullet on an ebay x02 or that chrome looking stock muffler.

I think it is the heat shield. It happ0ens when the car is warm and cold, I can especially hear it when sitting in traffic next to another car or pulling in the garage. Also, when I'm driving between 2-2.5k rpm there is a really weird vibration that sounds like its coming from directly below me which would be the y-pipe. Any ideas?

Much better option....^....than spending all that $$ to replace it! A good muffler shop knows how to weld unlike someone (flakes) that just replaces parts....

I just bought that one. I am not going to put the pipe in from the cats back b/c that will take out the resonator. I'll see how it sounds and let you guys know!! And if you bang your fist on my current muffler you can hear something moving around in there.
