Getting bored with the G, advice on where to go with mods?

Hey everyone,

I currently have an injen cai, stillen y-pipe, and tanabe medalion touring exhaust on my G35. I can't decide whether I want test pipes or HFC. I really want my car to sound throaty/loud. I am willing to buy headers but from the research I've done, apparently headers have little gains and cost way too much to install. Theres back and fourth debate whether to get HFC or test pipes, so I guess my question really is for a loud throaty sound, and for the set up I have thus far, would you guys recommend test pipes or HFC for what I have?

Or should I change my whole exhaust set up? I have roughly $1200 to throw around and play with for the car, and if i sell my exhaust and y-pipe I can probably get $600 for all that.

Thanks in advanced for the input

If you have that much, Id sell your exhaust and buy either MD or HKS.. Then get some ART pipes and be happy!!! But if your bored with your ride, Id suggest some visual mods. I recently got some ray 19s and a gialla grill.. Its like your first love again! ahahaha

Or, save up like... 3grand and do a whole body kit and paint. or 5 grand for a front end conversion..

or 5 grand a Titan 5.6 swap... or a turbo set up.

many choices.

or sell it and get a camaro SS. which is what i would like to do but cant afford it.

Motordyne ART pipes! I just installed my a week ago and the sound is amazing. The power gains are everywhere. Low end torque with these things is off the chart, and in RPMs I use everyday (Below 3k.) The car feels so much smoother now. I HIGHLY recommend this mod!

Love my Megan Resonated Test pipes

People who know more about this can certainly correct me if i'm wrong but w/ my experience (installed my testpipes about 3 months ago)The smell is pretty noticeable when you first install them while the new gaskets are being broken in... can't believe ppl sell them after trying it for a day lol. You get used to fumes and after the break in period you only sometimes notice them with the windows down while stopped.

As for performance, i did notice a little loss in low end torque. I was fine w/ this for cruising purposes, first gear is geared pretty low so takes offs seem smother. Mid range feels more responsive. This could all be in my head from hearing the exhaust. Sound wise, I love the sound they provide w/ stock exhaust. It's loud enough to actually hear it while driving . Almost unnoticeable at idle, normal take offs you can hear barely hear it, aggressive starts it unleashes some nice volume.

Be a BOSS, get a 2011 Infiniti M56 S. I like large luxury sedans with V8s. How I ended up with a G35 coupe, I don't know.

Joe, the best mod you can make for your G35 is BERK'S HFCs and you'll be legal without the exhaust stink of test pipes! And....you'll love the sound after all the restriction has been removed. One thing you need to be aware of, any further mods to your exhaust system and you'll probably need a tune cause you'll be throwing the "check engine soon" error code which means you'll be running lean....that's where I'm at.

The M56 is no joke. But I'd have to go with the 5.0 Mustang. If I had the money, I would love the new Super Snake GT500 or a GT-R. Camaros just seem like toys to me. Bad handling no feature toys with a big engine. But you should get a new paint job and some really nice rims. And I looked at the Motordyne ARTS and they sound really nice.

Thanks for the input guys. I see Berk HFC's a few places in the vendor classifieds but the only place i see ART pipes for sale is on the motordyne website. Where did you guys buy your ART pipes? How much did they set you back? And what are the HP gains from the ART pipes compared to the Berk HFC's?

Thanks
