Common problem, its the window motor I think. If you search you should find a ton of help and a few DIYs on how to fix it. Gl.

if im correct your bumper to bumper is up so you would have to pay the dealership to fix it but i would take it to one and ask when the bumper to bumper is up just to make sure. IF it is then take the door panel off and pull out the motor clean the contacts inside the motor with sand paper and it should work again our window motors suk...

yea most likely it sounds like the window motor but usually when they are going bad it doesnt go back down. It sounds like its binding against something and plus maybe the motor is going bad.

I just bought one and mine goes up and down, but it's very noisey going up and makes a very loud popping noise when its down going up. Is there a TSB on this issue by chance?

I had a similar problem where the window would go all the way up and then go back down about 1/4. I would have to hold it up at the top for it to stay. I took it to the dealer and they said they had to reset the window motor timing. Cost about $100.

Do you have a link to the reset procedure. I think I'm having the same problem. I'm still under factory warranty, but if I can fix it myself in 10 mins, I'll take that route.

^factory warranty for 'adjustments' is only 1yr/12,000mi^
search for the reset procedure, some years you have to remove the door switch and/or door panel..some years you can do with the switch alone

yeah the window motor in these things suxxxz, I find myself cleaning and resetting it once a year. FYI, cleaning is required if you find your window completely dead and stuck. Resetting is required if your window moves but irregularly and in some possessed kind of way.

Better get use to the being a DIY type of person. Even after getting a new window motor will eventually fail again on you.

If the reset doesn't work for you then you can try cleaning the window motor. I recently tried the reset and it didn't work, so I took the door apart and cleaned the motor with some rubbing alcohol (There is a DIY on the forum), put it all back, did the reset, and it works like new.

The only difficult part for me was lining up the window regulators when putting the door back together, and I'm not at all what you would call mechanically inclined

yes alcohol and some brillo pad/scrub for those carbon stains. What also works well is that electronic cleaner you get from radioshack which can clean the MAF sensor also.

yeah aligning the regulator is a pain but the trick is to grab the top of the glass to help you move/guide it around.
